In the year 2000 at the latest, his name like wildfire through the world of the media went as Yundi won the gold medal at the International Chopin competition in Warsaw as the first Chinese in the proud history of this competition. Since then, Yundi belongs to the elite of the leading world-class pianists. His Chopin interpretations, which are called in a train with the most famous of the compartment - Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, Krystian Zimerman - have a legendary reputation. Several CD recordings now testifies to this singular piano art. On his latest now he turned for the first time some sonatas by Beethoven.
