TARTUFFE ODER DAS SCHWEIN DER WEISEN Heads to the Theater Basel

Tartuffe oder das Schwein der Weisen, or Tartuffe or the Pig of the Wise, opens at the Theater Basel on September 14, 2018.

Tartuffe oder das Schwein der Weisen is based a comedy by Molière that was was banned immediately after its premiere in 1664 due to its sexual and economic nature. The Cologne-based author and musician PeterLicht takes up key motifs and characters from Molière's comedy and turns them away from the socio-political reality of French absolutism in order to target our present.

Tartuffe oder das Schwein der Weisen, directed by Claudia Bauer, stars Katja Jung, Florian von Manteuffel, Myriam Schröder, Mario Fox, Leonie Merlin Young, Max Rothbeard, Pia dealer, and Nicola Mastroberardino.
