ROMANTISCH Comes to Theater St. Gallen Next Month

Das erste Tonhallekonzert der neuen Saison zeigt das romantische Künstlerpaar Schumann Seite an Seite. Beide, Clara und Robert, schrieben ein Klavierkonzert in a-Moll, bei beiden hiess die Pianistin der Uraufführung Clara Schumann.
Doch lange gehörte nur das Konzert Roberts zum Standardrepertoire, erst allmählich fand Claras ausdrucksstarkes Klavierkonzert den Weg auf die Spielpläne. Die litauische Pianistin Guoda Gedvilaitė mit Wohnsitz in Frankfurt am Main – Clara Schumanns letzter Wirkungsstätte – ist eine profunde Kennerin des Werks der Komponistin und interpretiert in diesem Programm beide Schumann-Konzerte hintereinander.
Am Pult des Sinfonieorchesters steht für diesen romantischen Saisonauftakt die kanadische Dirigentin Keri-Lynn Wilson.
