KÖNIG ARTHUR, which will feature opera and ballet, is coming to the Theater Basel and opens September 13.
KÖNIG ARTHUR tells the tale of the British and Saxons preparing for the last battle. Soon, the men of the young King Arthur and the warriors of the Saxon King Oswald will face each other in battle and decide on the dominance on the island. Among Arthur's men, rumors are making the rounds of alienated rites of the Saxons, of a dark cult in homage to their Norse deity, ghosts and a tricky magician.
For whether gun power, magic, cunning or reason will keep the last word, neither Britons nor Saxons can foresee. And what happens when the last spell is spoken, the last sword broken, and the last song sounded?
This production is recommended for ages 12 and older.
