The College of Communication and the Arts offers students the opportunity to pursue academic programs in music through minors in Music Performance, Musical Theatre and Sound Production and Engineering. All students, regardless of program of study, also have the option of participating in various music ensembles including Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Pep Band, Concert Band, University Choir, Chamber Choir.

​​​​​​​The Herb + Milly Iris Gallery at SOPAC kicks off a new season of exhibitions with Rhapsody in Color: Aida Jones Abstract Paintings, a series of vivid, energetic abstract paintings from Maplewood-based artist Aida Jones. The exhibition is on display from September 15-November 6. An opening reception for Rhapsody in Color will be held in the Iris Gallery on Thursday, September 15 from 5-8PM. Mark St. Germain is a prolific playwright whose works have been performed in New York City, the Berkshires and beyond. He has written the plays CAMPING WITH HENRY AND TOM (Outer Critics Circle Award and Lucille Lortel Award), OUT OF GAS ON LOVER'S LEAP and FORGIVING TYPHOID MARY (Time Magazine's 'Year's Ten Best') , EARS ON A BEATLE and THE GOD COMMITTEE, all published by Samuel French and Dramatist Play Service. With Randy Courts, he has written the musicals THE GIFTS OF THE MAGI, JOHNNY PYE AND THE FOOLKILLER, winner of an AT&T 'New Plays For The Nineties Award' and JACK'S HOLIDAY at Playwrights Horizons. Mark's musical, STAND BY YOUR MAN, The Tammy Wynette Story was created for Nashville's Ryman Theater.

Vineyard Theatre Cancels Weekend Performances of LESSONS IN SURVIVAL: 1971
