Webster University’s Conservatory of Theatre's HELLO AGAIN Closes

By:

Webster University’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts presents “Hello Again" with music, lyrics and book by John LaChiusa and based on the 1897 play "La Ronde" by Arthur Schnitzler. The production runs through Feb. 26, in the Emerson Studio Theatre, 130 Edgar Road. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m., except Sundays, which presents 2 p.m. matinees only. Admission is $12 for the general public and $6 for senior adults and students. For ticket reservations, call the Fine Arts Hotline at 968-7128.

"Hello Again" is an ingenious musical consisting of vignettes exploring the passion and power of 10 love affairs, one from each decade of the 20th Century. Witness the Whore, the Young Thing, the Senator, the Soldier and others as they navigate each new sexual entanglement. Love and desire clash as each character seeks elusive connections. Five-time Tony Award nominee LaChiusa brings Schnitzler's controversial love stories to life with musical and lyrical styles of each decade, ranging from opera to jazz to disco. "Hello Again" is a study of American mores in the 20th century, though the play crosses the boundaries of time and space.

The musical was first produced off-Broadway in 1993. Since then it has been performed in London, Sweden, Australia, Germany, and New York.

Hello Again is directed by Visiting Guest Director David Caldwell.
