FOOD FIGHT: A Musical Comedy for Waist Watchers!, the hilarious hit show about our love/hate relationships with food, dieting and exercise, made its Midwest debut April 15 at the intimate and distinctive setting of The Playhouse at Westport Plaza, and continues through May 24.
Audiences are sure to burn off a few calories in the most enjoyable way possible: laughter, as Cheryl Corn (played by Annie Cook), Carla Cook (played by Tafee Patterson), Connie Pizzarelli (played by Missy McArdle) and Cindy Berger (played by Amanda Shae Willborn) sing, dance and "fight" their way through various battles with food, exercise and body image.

In the wild spirit of Menopause the Musical®, 24 catchy, popular tunes with parodied lyrics make FOOD FIGHT! instantly enjoyable for men and women alike, and will have audience members singing "If I were a size two..." instead of Fiddler on the Roof's "If I were a rich man..." all the way home, and even at work the next day!

Set in Miss Cook's Women's Gym, FOOD FIGHT! takes audiences through the familiar ups and downs of survival in a weight- and beauty-obsessed world. Led by Carla Cook as an energetic personal trainer at the gym, Cheryl, Connie and Cindy try to get in shape, and all four of their stories and personal struggles with food are played out through madcap humor and infectious melodies.

FOOD FIGHT! made its world debut in 2007 in Palm Beach, Fla., and launched a national tour In February 2009 from Atlanta, Ga., on its way to St. Louis, Denver, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Green Bay, and to numerous other cities across the country. Reviews of show have been outstanding. Critics are wild about its cleverness, talented cast and superb presentation. The Palm Beach Post raves, "Audiences are EATING IT UP!"
FOOD FIGHT! writer and producer Alan Jacobson has extensive experience as an actor, teacher, coach, director and producer. He has performed in theaters around the country from Boyton Beach to Broadway, in roles as diverse as Juan Peron in Evita, Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ali Hakim in Oklahoma, the Phantom's father (Carriere) in Phantom, and Max in Lend Me A Tenor. Jacobson is also the producer of two theatrical production companies he founded in 1992, Sunshine Stage Productions and Mane Stage Productions. He has produced more than 80 shows around the country, and two of his shows moved to Broadway.
