Feature: TRENDZ returns to the K-Pop scene with their 3rd Single Album, “STILL ON MY WAY”

One of the latest K-Pop boy bands to return to the spotlight is the 7-member group, TRENDZ. Having debuted in January of last year, they are fairly new to the K-Pop scene and stepping into the industry more and more with each new release. The group is under Global H Media and consists of members: Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yechan. Their group name, TRENDZ, hails from their drive to lead Generation Z. Dipping into the latest trends and styles, the group is guaranteed to catch your eye visually and musically when first introduced to them. 

For a newer K-Pop group, TRENDZ possesses a fairly lengthy discography comprised of 2 EPs, 3 single albums, and 5 singles including: “TNT (Truth & Trust),” “Who,” “Vagabond,” “New Dayz,” and their latest single, “My Way.” The group recently finished their BLUE SET series with their 2nd single album, “Blue Set Chapter. New Dayz,” released earlier this year in March. With the conclusion of that chapter of their music, TRENDZ started a new journey this month with “STILL ON MY WAY”.

TRENDZ’s 3rd single album, “STILL ON MY WAY” was dropped on September 6th. Focusing on the energy and hope that comes with one’s youth, the album’s songs passionately represent the feelings and dreams that are felt during this era of life. The album was produced by LEEZ who collaborated with TRENDZ on their previous albums including, “Blue Set. Chapter. [Unknown Code].

The album’s title track is “MY WAY.” A song with a prominent drum and base sound representing the determination felt when following one’s own path of life. “MY WAY” features lyrics written by members ra.L and Yechan and shed a light on never giving up in life and flying high even when darkness takes over. The other 2 songs on the album include “ven conmingo” and “O.Y.E.” The moombahton sound of “ven conmingo” is addicting, drawing listeners in within the song’s first few moments. Just like “MY WAY,” the song emphasizes moving forward and having hope when life gets tough. Members ra.L and Hankook both assisted with lyrics for the song.  Finally, “O.Y.E” touches on finding your inner true value. This pop track with lyrics written by Hankook, ra.L, and Yechan features a medium tempo, popping beats, and melodic chorus.

Ultimately, their goal was to show their growth as a group with the album. In the stages of putting everything together, the group stated that they “were excited and happy to create another layer of memories.” Especially with their track “MY WAY,” they intended for it to be, “an emotional song that will bring overwhelming feelings by listening to it.”
