The Footlight Players to Open 83rd Season with DON'T DRESS FOR DINNER, 8/1-17

By:

The Footlight Players, South Carolina's longest-producing theatre company, will open its 83rd Season with the smash-hit, Don't Dress for Dinner, written by Marc Camoletti and adapted by Robin Hawdon. Jo Ellen Aspinwall directs a stellar cast through a delicious web of marital treachery. On stage August 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 & 16 at 8:00PM and August 10 & 17 at 3:00PM.

In Don't Dress for Dinner, Bernard's plans for a romantic rendezvous with his chic Parisian mistress are complete with a gourmet caterer and an alibi courtesy of his friend, Robert. But when Bernard's wife learns that Robert will be visiting for the weekend, she decides to stay in town for a surprise tryst of her own, setting the stage for a collision course of mistaken identities and outrageous infidelities, with more twists than a corkscrew. The cook is Suzette, the lover is Suzanne, the friend is bewildered, the wife is suspicious, the husband is losing his mind and everyone is guaranteed a good time at this hilarious romp through the French countryside.

The cast includes Billy Turner as Bernard, Sarah Wallis Craven as Jacqueline, Jay Danner as Robert, Krissy McKown as Suzanne, Victoria Vaughn as Suzette and Darryl LaPlante as George.

Performances of Don't Dress for Dinner are August 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 & 16 at 8:00PM and August 10 & 17 at 3:00PM. All performances will be held at the Footlight Players Theatre, 20 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401. Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $27.00 for military/seniors, and $20 for students and can be purchased online at www.FootlightPlayers.net or by calling (843) 722-4487.

The Footlight Players is the longest continuously performing theatre company in the Southeast and has been producing performances since 1931. Presenting on average six Main Stage and three Footlight Fringe productions annually, The Footlight Players is notably one of the leading community theatres in the South focused on providing quality entertainment for and by the community.
