PURE Theatre will present the regional premiere of Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies. Time Stands Still is directed by Randy Neale, and will feature Sharon Graci, Mark Landis, David Mandel, and Katie Smith.  The show opens Friday, September 23, and will run through Friday, October 14th. This will be the opening show of PURE Theatre's Ninth Season titled Coming Home. After many years without a permanent location, PURE will be in its new home located at 477 King Street in Downtown Charleston.

Time Stands Still focuses on Sarah and James, a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent trying to find happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy. Theirs is a partnership based on telling the toughest stories and, together, making a difference. But when their own story takes a sudden turn, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.

Time Stands Still made its debut with the Manhattan Theatre Club in January 2010, and later was produced on Broadway at the Cort Theatre. Both productions were directed by Tony Award Winner Daniel Sullivan, and starred three time Academy Award nominee & Golden winner Laura Linney and two time Tony Award winner Brian d'Arcy James. The show received a Tony Award nomination for Best Play and Best Performance of a Leading Actress in a Play.

"Insightful writing, the work is smart, stylish, timely and layered with an intriguing seriousness that inspires discussion after the curtain comes down-a rarity these days." -Associated Press
"Handily Mr. Margulies's finest play since the Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner with Friends . . . Mr. Margulies's quietly powerful drama illustrates just how much pain and trauma are involved in the everyday business of two people creating a life together, one that accommodates the mistakes of the past, the reality of the present and the changes that the future may bring." -Charles Isherwood, New York Times
