Flowertown Players to Present THE THREE MUSKETEERS, 5/23-6/8
One for All and All for One! Join Porthos, Athos, Aramis and the young D'Artangian, as they adventure across France, Swashing their Buckles and Buckling Their Swashes all in an attempt to foil the evil machinations of Rochefort, Malady De Winter, and the nefarious Cardinal Richelieu. And with any great adventure comes plenty of action and romance, as well as some grand comedy. The Three Musketeers promises to take you on an adventure you will never forget, with plenty of fun for the whole family.
This version, adapted by the Flowertown Player's own Jason Olson, is truly a unique production. "This one has a lot more comedy in it," says director Julie Hammond. "Jason stays true to the actual story but he adds a lot more humor. He actually created Alexander Dumas as a character that narrarates the slower parts of the story."
"The subplot of Athos and Malady is more of a factor in this production than other adaptations. It shows Malady as a more potent antagonist," says Olson. He is excited to see his work brought to the stage with actual swordfighting, choreographed by Flowertown Player's Artistic Director, JC Conway, and David Hatch. "JC's doing a great job."
Come on down to Flowertown Players for your chance to see an unforgettable telling of this classic tale. Tickets are $25 for adults. Senior Citizens and Students can attend for a reduced price of $22 and $20 respectively. Show dates are May 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, June 5, 6, and 7 at 8PM or May 25 and June 1 and 8 at 3PM.
