Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT), the Midlands only professional theatre for families and young audiences is excited to present the NiA Company's production "HOLLA!!!" for one performance only on Saturday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are only $5.00 for children and adults. HOLLA!!! is described as a fun, interactive mash-up of theatre, song, call and response, storytelling, and audience

participation. The show incorporates everything from African Djembe drums to Native American folk songs with improvisational sketch comedy and blues-ified nursery rhymes.The performers use music, movement, and stories to get the audience going. HOLLA!!! performances are fun for all ages!

Led by NiA Creative Director and Master Storyteller Darion McCloud, who was last seen in the company's production The Whipping Man, the cast features faces familiar to Columbia theatre audiences. Musician extraordinaire Baba Seitu Amenwahsu and singer Tiffany James--both of Workshop Theatre's hit The Color Purple--and talented NiA company member Loretta Brown join McCloud for the event. Partnering with CCT's Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson and Managing Director Jim Litzinger will promise audiences big family fun!

"We've been talking about partnering with NiA for a while, but the timing never seemed to work out," said Stevenson. "HOLLA!!! is a perfect fit for our audiences: the high energy, interactive aspect will ensure plenty of surprises and fun!

The NiA Theatre Company founded in 1998 is a multi-ethnic, multi-talented theatre company with the mission to make professional caliber theatre accessible to all audiences including families, the economically challenged and others.

Columbia Children's Theatre is a professional resident not-for-profit theatre dedicated to providing quality live theatre experiences for families and young audiences, and is supported in part by the City of Forest Acres, The Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties and the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
