Due to the weather, today's Fridays by the Fountain outdoor summer concert has been RESCHEDULED to Friday, August 17, during lunchtime from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Jon R. Hunt Plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center.

The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, Indiana, announces a fantastic new look to the www.MorrisCenter.org website. Completed by Interlink Companies, new web pages were added including Welcome, FAQs, Special Needs Patrons, Theater Etiquette, Historic Timeline and more. The website was redesigned to be visually pleasing and user friendly with more information for patrons.

Set in 1929 Florida in a Cuban-American cigar factory where cigars are still rolled by hand, Anna in the Tropics tells a story of passion and dreams. The arrival of a charismatic new lector, or reader, to entertain the workers in the factory creates a burst of excitement. When he begins to read aloud from the classic "Anna Karenina," the novel's romantic prose sparks hidden desires in his listeners which will change their lives dramatically.

Grant Mudge Named Next Ryan Producing Artistic Director at Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival

Grant Mudge has been named the Ryan Producing Artistic Director of the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival. Mudge succeeds Jay Paul Skelton who departs after the conclusion of 2012 season of the Festival to pursue a research degree in England. Peter Holland, Associate Dean for the Arts in the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame, recently made the announcement. "We chose Grant after an extensive national search. His success in building the Richmond Shakespeare Festival shows that he has the track-record and the talent to help us take the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival forward to an ever more exciting future," Holland explained.

The only thing more run down than the Uptown Chicago donut shop is its owner. Despondent, disengaged, and out of touch, Arthur doesn't even register the vandalism of his store. Even the colorful array of characters in the neighborhood can't bring him out of his shell - the local bag lady, the Russian video store owner next door, the two cops checking out the damage. Only when charismatic young Franco Wicks enters the store and practically forces himself into being hired does the spark of life begin to take hold for Arthur. Brilliant but carrying secrets, Franco's troubles crash into Arthur's sheltered world and force him to finally take a stand.
