TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Bucks County Playhouse’s 83rd Season opened May 21 with the new play “American Jade.” Written by and starring Emmy-Award-winning actress Jodi Long, the show runs through June 11.

Prospect Theater Company launches its 2017-18 IGNITE Series on Saturday, October 21st at 8pm, with a concert of GOLD MOUNTAIN, with book, music, and lyrics by 2017 ASCAP Foundation Cole Porter Award winner Jason Ma. This original musical spins an epic love story, set against the backdrop of the 1860s construction of The Central Pacific Railroad.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley kicks off its 48th season with the World Premiere of The Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga. Drawn from one of the first ever graphic novels, set to an infectious ragtime and vaudeville score by local composer/lyricist Min Kahng, the comic musical follows four Japanese immigrants in a world of possibility and prejudice: turn-of-the-twentieth-century San Francisco. From a tumultuous earthquake to an exhilarating World's Fair, the quartet pursues the American Dream, despite limited options in the land of opportunity. Directed by TheatreWorks Associate Artistic Director Leslie Martinson, and developed at TheatreWorks' 2016 New Works Festival, the World Premiere ofThe Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga will be presented July 12-August 6, 2017 (press opening: July 15) at Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. The New Stage Theatre Company, celebrating their 10th anniversary season, will present the World Premiere of Hypnotik: The Seer Will Doctor You Now, conceived and directed by Ildiko Nemeth, written by Ildiko Nemeth, Colm O'Shea and Marie Glancy O'Shea, and choreographed by Julie Atlas Muz (NY Innovative Theatre Award nominee), with an original score by Jon Gilbert Leavitt.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that due to unforeseen conflicts with Roger Rees' schedule, The Old Globe's upcoming production of What You Will has been replaced with Golda's Balcony starring four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Written by William Gibson and supervised by Scott Schwartz, Golda's Balcony earned Feldshuh a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress, and is the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history. Golda's Balcony will run in the Old Globe Theatre April 28 - May 30.
