Arcola Theatre in association with DOT Theatre present the London première of multi-award-winning writer Zinnie Harris' Meet Me at Dawn. Murat Daltaban directs Jessica Hardwick (Helen) and Marianne Oldham (Robyn). Meet Me at Dawn, which draws on the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice in this gripping tale of devotion and loss, opens on 16 October, with previews from 9 October and runs until 9 November.

NACL Theatre presents the New York City premiere of SHAKESPEARE'S WILL by award-winning Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen, whose acclaimed play Of Human Bondage premiered at Signature Theatre in a Soulpepper production in 2017. It stars Tannis Kowalchuk as Anne Hathaway, the woman who married William Shakespeare.  Directed by Mimi McGurl, performances run though April 1 at HERE.

Following a sold-out limited engagement the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will close the fully-restored operetta The Sorceress (Di Kishefmakherin) following today's 2pm performance at NYC's Museum of Jewish Heritage.

Eugene Ionesco, Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter and Edward Albee are Theatre of the Absurd playwrights. Unlike modern-movement writers like Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams and William Inge, who wrote realistic plays which included solutions to problems or resolved situations, the Absurdists based their plays on Existentialism, asking, 'Why do we exist?' but giving no answers. Their writings are full of questions to ponder and probe.
