“Jim Caruso’s Cast Party” is the weekly Open Mic Night/Variety Show that has been bringing Broadway glitz and urbane wit to Birdland in New York City every Monday night since 2003. Check out new photos!

Mother and daughter swapping bodies. To me it reminds of the movie filmed in 2003, starred by Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, which was my only reference to the title. Fortunately, from the show's program I was able to read more of its history and was surprised: it's based on a book published in 1972 and has been made into several films and now just a few years back into a musical! (The reasons why the mother and daughter switch places varies quite much depending on the version, so don't except a Chinese restaurant and fortune cookies on this one!)

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Il Divo, the record-breaking classical crossover group who has sold more than 26 million albums worldwide, met with the press today at Sardi's ahead of their limited run of live Broadway performances at The Marquis Theater with special guest, Heather Headley, beginning November 7, 2013. Grammy Award winner Mika's latest album The Origin of Love was released in October 2012, and it includes the track, 'Popular Song.' The tune samples 'Popular' from Broadway's WICKED, originally sung by Kristin Chenoweth. L.A. Contemporary Dance Company (LACDC) presents their Spring Repertory Concert THEN. NOW. ONWARD! April 4-7, 2013 on Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm at the Diavolo Dance Space in the Brewery in downtown L.A., located at 616 Moulton Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90031. The concert features new work by L.A. choreographers Arianne MacBean, Lindsey Lollie, and Artistic Director, Kate Hutter. Theatre 20 kicked off it's 2011-2012 concert season on Monday May 9th with The Story Begins, an evening of songs from story driven musicals. Featuring special guest Colm Wilkinson and some of Toronto's best and brightest stars, it was a truly magical evening of amazing musical theatre talent. Parsons Dance presents REMEMBER ME, an all-new version of last season's collaboration with the lead vocalists of East Village Opera Company (EVOC), featuring the music of the acclaimed rock opera band at The Joyce Theater from February 2-21, 2010.

Ten world-class Flamenco artists will heat up the stage in an evening of intense Gypsy passion under the stars when The Fountain Theatre presents Forever Flamenco: LA OLE! at the Ford Amphitheatre on August 1 at 8:30 pm.

Tony-winner Idina Menzel can be seen this month on PBS in a new concert, which premiered on January 15, 2009. The evening includes appearances with guest stars Josh Groban and Ravi Coltrane. Last night, October 27, Career Transition For Dancers (CTFD) presented its 9th Annual Gala - GOTTA DANCE! A Dance Tribute to Hollywood at City Center. BroadwayWorld attended the gala as well as the dress rehearsal earlier in the day. The nostalgic evening honored and paid tribute to that wonderful era when some of the most superb in dance and choreography was immortalized on film.
