The Frogs Photos - Broadway

On Sunday, June 16, Washington, D.C.'s theatre community gathered to celebrate the end of MICHAEL KAHN's 33-year tenure as Artistic Director of Shakespeare Theatre Company with musical and dramatic performances, special guests from the worlds of entertainment, politics, and media, and a mayoral proclamation.

'The Frogs,' Stephen Sondheim and Burt Shevelove's musical adaptation of Aristophanes' ancient Greek comedy, had a novel introduction to the stage. In 1974 it was produced in Yale University's Swimming Pool by the Yale Repertory Theatre.

The Tony Award-winning Hartford Stage, under the leadership of Darko Tresnjak, Artistic Director, and Michael Stotts, Managing Director, presents William Shakespeare's magical masterwork, The Tempest, directed by Darko Tresnjak, playing now through June 10, 2012 (press opening: Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30pm). Tony Award nominee Daniel Davis, best known for his recent NYC roles in Classic Stage's The Cherry Orchard, Lincoln Center's The Invention of Love, and the 2004 Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, as well as six seasons as Niles the Butler on TV's "The Nanny, plays Prospero. Nonesuch Records and PS Classics released the 2010 new Broadway cast recording of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. That same day, Stephen Sondheim and the A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC cast signed copies of the album at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street).

Conceptual pop artist Francesca Harper, currently on stage in The Color Purple, blended original music, choreography, dance, and film into a contemporary pop variety show, 'Modo Fusion Lounge,' which was performed at the 92nd Street Y's Makor/Steinhardt Center on October 9th

On November 7th, Primary Stages held its 21st Anniversary Gala honoring Tony Award-winning Choreographer and Director, Susan Stroman at Tavern On The Green. On hand for the festivities were Nathan Lane, Charles Grodin, Karen Ziemba, Boyd Gaines and many more.
