The world premiere production of the brand new musical comedy Bullets Over Broadway, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, will begin preview performances tomorrow, March 11 and officially open Thursday, April 10, 2014 at The St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). The new musical will be directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. Two time Tony Award nominee and Broadway favorite Marcia Lewis passed away on, December 21 in her home in Nashville, Tennessee. The beloved, 72 year old character actress lost a battle to both brain and lung cancer. Lewis is survived by her husband, Fred Bryan. Broadway Beat has given us a special 'in memory' tribute clip of the star from her 1992 club act at Eighty-Eight's from the Broadway Beat Archives.

Elaine Paige is celebrating her illustrious career with a concert DVD entitled 'Elaine Page - Celebrating 40 Years On Stage'. The video shows material from a concert stop on Paige's 40th Anniversary Tour. The concert, entitled 'Live in Australia,' was filmed during the New Zealand/Australian tour that took place earlier this year. This specific concert took place on October 31st, 2009.
