Artists Repertory Theatre brings its 2014/15 season to close with The Liar, an adaptation of Pierre Cornielle's 17th Century French comedy from the brilliant mind of David Ives, a playwright best known for hilarious adaptations and plays such as All In The Timing and Venus in Fur. At the start of GENERAL HOSPITAL's 20th Anniversary Nurses Ball, the uber-villan Dr. Liesl Obrecht hijacked the opening number to perform her 'Welcoming' song. The Nurses Ball became a Port Charles tradition in 1994 as a way to bring attention to the growing need for A.I.D.S. research. At this year's edition Chief-of-Staff Obrecht, recently released from jail, feels left out of the festivities, and decides to force herself into the action with a bit of Alan Cumming showmanship.

Huntington Theatre Company kicks off 2014 with David Ives' sexy Broadway smash hit Venus in Fur, deemed '90 minutes of good, kinky fun,' by The New York Times. Daniel Goldstein (God of Carnage) returns to the Huntington to the direct the 2012 Tony Award nominee for Best Play. Performances will begin on January 3 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre. At the Mile High Holidays press conference today, Crumpet (Matt Zambrano) from The SantaLand Diaries provided Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock instructions on how to be a proper elf. 'I suspected Mayor Hancock (or 'Manning-elf' as he called himself) may have missed his true calling as a dancing holiday elf. I think I suspected right.'- Crumpet from The SantaLand Diaries, played by Matt Zambrano. The SantaLand Diaries will be at the Garner Galleria Theatre from November 29 through December 24.
