Curating a season is not an easy thing, especially for a large, professional theater. You want to strike that delicate balance of diversity, entertainment, cutting edge, and most of all audience appeal. But when the 5th Avenue Theater announced they were doing “Something’s Afoot”, an old show often done by community theaters, I was perplexed. But maybe it’s good, I mean, I’ve never seen it. Sadly, it’s not.

On May 3, 4 and 5, 2019, The Community Players of Concord, NH will proudly present Something's Afoot, A Murder Mystery Musical, a spoof of murder mysteries in general, but mainly, Agatha Christie's mysteries, especially her famous novel and play And Then There Were None (a/k/a Ten Little Indians).

The Vagabond Players have announced its historic 100th consecutive season for 2015-16. The centennial season is made up of revivals of past successful Vagabond productions. The Vagabonds first opened in 1916 as a part of the Little Theatre Movement that was sweeping the country at the time. CLUTTER: The True Story of the Collyer Brothers Who Never Threw Anything Out, running through March 11 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N Lincoln Ave., will feature a special talkback session immediately following the 7:30 p.m. performances every other Thursday evening starting with a special "Theater Thursday" event on February 2. Dr. Scott Kaplan, an Illinois licensed clinical psychologist, will facilitate these sessions to address questions about hoarding and other themes explored in the play.

Taproot Theatre Company's 2011 Season runs from January through October. The resubscription period is currently underway, with subscriptions opening to the general public on September 28.
