Straight from engagements in Rome, Milan and Florence, MF Production presents Enrico Brignano in Rugantino, in celebration of 50th Anniversary of the show's Broadway debut, from today, June 12, 13 and 14, 2014 at New York City Center, 131 West 55th Street, NYC. Tickets start at $35 (premium seating is also offered) and are available at nycitycenter.org, by phone at 212.581.121, or in person at the box office. Performances are on Thursday and Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 2pm. Rugantino will be performed in Italian with English subtitles.

Un debutto davvero entusiasmante al Sistina per Rugantino, il grande classico della commedia romana che torna in scena con la straordinaria verve di Enrico Brignano, dopo l'indimenticabile successo dell'edizione 2010 con oltre 130.000 spettatori. Lo spettacolo torna nel suo teatro storico diretto da Massimo Romeo Piparo.

Oggi nel 1962, RUGANTINO debuttava al Teatro Sistina di Roma. RUGANTINO, insieme ad AGGIUNGI UN POSTO A TAVOLA, è una delle commedie musicali più apprezzate del repertorio G&G. Le musiche sono del M° Armando Trovajoli mentre il testo porta le firme di Pietro Garinei, Sandro Giovannini, Pasquale Festa Campanile, Massimo Franciosa e Luigi Magni. Il cast della produzione originale vedeva Nino Manfredi nei panni del mascalzone Rugantino, il compianto Aldo Fabrizi in quelli di Mastro Titta, Lea Massari nel ruolo di Rosetta e Bice Valori in quello di Eusebia. Scene e costumi erano del grande Giulio Coltellacci e le coreografie di Dania Krupska (sostituita per la seconda edizione da Gino Landi).
