LCT3 Announces GRACELAND and ON THE LEVEE As Next Productions, Both Set To Play At The Duke

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's new programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, has announced the remaining productions of its 2009-2010 season: the New York premiere of GRACELAND, a new play by Ellen Fairey, directed by Henry Wishcamper and the world premiere of ON THE LEVEE, a musical play conceived and directed by Lear deBessonet with book by Marcus Gardley and music and lyrics by Todd Almond.

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's new initiative devoted to producing work of emerging playwrights, directors and designers, will present the world premiere of WHAT ONCE WE FELT, a new play by Ann Marie Healy, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll, as the first of three productions during the 2009-2010 season. WHAT ONCE WE FELT will be presented Monday, October 26 through Saturday, November 21 at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project, (229 W. 42 Street). The second and third LCT3 productions, to be announced, are scheduled for Spring 2010 and will also be presented at The Duke on 42nd Street.

Previews begin Thursday (October 22) at the Lyceum Theater (149 West 45 Street) for Lincoln Center Theater's production of IN THE NEXT ROOM or the vibrator play, a new play by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Les Waters. The cast features Laura Benanti, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Michael Cerveris, Maria Dizzia, Thomas Jay Ryan, Wendy Rich Stetson, and Chandler Williams. Opening night is Thursday, November 19.

The 'Bright Side of Life' will light up for just two more weeks as The Tony and Grammy Award-winning MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT makes its final stop (after an almost four year national tour run) at the Orange County Performing Arts Center on October 6 - 18. As a special closing treat, John O' Hurley (TV's Seinfeld, Dancing with the Stars, and Family Feud) will reprise the role of King Arthur for its final set of performances. The Staff and Board of Trustees of Know Theatre have announced the resignation of Artistic Director, Jason Bruffy. Bruffy will be moving to Salt Lake City, Utah to become the new Executive Artistic Director at the Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC). SLAC's 2009-2010 season opens on September 18th, so Bruffy's departure will be expedited that he may arrive in time to open their season.
