The International Myeloma Foundation's 8th Annual Comedy Celebration will present the smash hit stage show Celebrity Autobiography on Saturday, November 8 at The Wilshire Ebell Theatre. The New York Philharmonic will salute departing Principal Trumpet Philip Smith - who will step down from his position at the end of the 2013-14 season following 36 seasons of service - in A Celebration of Phil Smith, a concert featuring the New York Philharmonic Brass and Percussion Ensemble, conducted by Mr. Smith and Bramwell Tovey, July 5, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. The program will also include works that showcase brass: an arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov's Procession of the Nobles; a Horn Quartet by Gershwin; Tomasi's Liturgical Fanfares; an arrangement of The Great Gate of Kiev from Musorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition; and Pollack's That's a Plenty, which the New York Philharmonic Principal Brass Quintet, of which Mr. Smith was a founding member, has frequently performed as an encore on the Orchestra's tours. Philharmonic musicians will introduce the works and speak about Mr. Smith.

DPAC announced today that individual tickets for the Triangle premiere of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage will go on sale June 28 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available at the DPAC Ticket Center or by visiting DPACnc.com and Ticketmaster. The staged musical of this worldwide smash-hit film will play DPAC September 16-21, 2014.

Dates have been announced for the Triangle return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The musical will make its much-anticipated return to the Triangle to play DPAC on April 7 through April 12, 2015.

EDGAR ROSENBLUM AWARDS, a benefit for the Irondale Ensemble's theater and education programs for youth. He will host a diverse and exciting group of performers including the great banjo player, Hubby Jenkins (Carolina Chocolate Drops), members of PigPen Theatre Company, Catscratch Dance Theatre, Letter of Marque Theatre Company and of course the Irondale Ensemble. According to Jim Niesen, Irondale's Artistic Director ,'We're so honored that such amazing performers are coming out to support us. Music, especially traditional music has always been a major stylistic element in our work. So has dance. Bringing everyone together is a perfect mix'.

The fourth annual M. Edgar Rosenblum Awards will be given at a ceremony on November 15, during a benefit for the Irondale Ensemble Project at the Irondale Center, 85 South Oxford Street, in the BAM Cultural District of Fort Greene. Awards will be presented to Tucker Reed, President of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, Marvin Carlson, Sidney E. This year's Festival will feature more than 35 events across several venues including concerts, opera, dance, pre-concert recitals and lectures, late-night performances, contemporary music, and premieres of two commissioned works. The Festival kicks off with two free events: the world premiere of a new work by John Luther Adams, performed July 25 and 26 for free on Hearst Plaza, in a joint presentation with Lincoln Center Out of Doors, and continuing an annual tradition, the free preview concert by the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall on July 26. Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree returns for his 12th season to conduct the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, which will perform a wide range of works anchored by the Festival's featured namesake.
