La Jolla Playhouse announces five shows for its 2015/2016 season, featuring all new works, including the world-premiere musical Come from Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by acclaimed Canadian husband-and-wife team Irene Sankoff and David Hein, directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley; the world premiere of Indecent, co-created by director Rebecca Taichman (Playhouse's Sleeping Beauty Wakes, Milk Like Sugar), and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), co-produced with Yale Repertory Theatre; and Blueprints to Freedom: An Ode to Bayard Rustin, by Michael Benjamin Washington (Memphis, The Wiz), directed by The Cosby Show's Phylicia Rashad, which had its first workshop during the Playhouse's 2014 DNA New Work Series.

The Heights Players 59th season opens with great exuberance as the New York premiere of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, adapted for the stage by Simon Levy, takes the stage in Brooklyn Heights. This elegant and exquisite production celebrates one of the most iconoclastic portrayals of the American Dream by one of the most famous American authors of all time. The Great Gatsby - the novel that defined the Jazz Age - opens tonight, September 5th and runs through September 21st.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will host 22 theatrical offerings from 20 different countries during WORLD STAGES: International Theater Festival 2014 that will run for three weeks March 10-30, 2014 throughout the Center. The international festival features contemporary theater works offering 13 fully staged productions, 4 theater-focused installations, 3 readings of new works, and 2 forums. From Olivier and Tony Award-winning puppetry to innovative perspectives on old classics, a diverse showcase of theatrical expression will be represented by countries spanning the globe including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Iceland, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Pakistan, Palestine, Scotland, South Africa, Sudan, Syria, and the United States.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces the first four selections of its 40th Anniversary Season. The celebratory season kicks-off with the current Off-Broadway hit The Commons of Pensacola, which is expected to be the first regional production. The season continues with Agatha Christie's mystery The Mousetrap, which is the world's longest-running play. Playwright Bruce Graham (Stella & Lou, The Outgoing Tide) returns to Northlight for the World Premiere of White Guy on the Bus. Shining Lives: A Musical, based on Melanie Marnich's play, commissioned by Northlight and written by Jessica Thebus (book & lyrics), Andre Pluess and Amanda Dehnert (music) will make its World Premiere in the Spring. An additional title is yet to be announced.

Following its critically acclaimed 2009 engagement in the Royal National Theatre in London, Martin Crimp's new translation of Ferdinand Bruckner's 'Pains of Youth' will finally have its New York premiere in a production of The Cake Shop Theater Company at the Access Theater, 380 Broadway, tonight, February 13 to March 2. Silver Lake Summers is based on the life and work of American poet and painter Edward Estlin Cummings, a lifelong summer resident of Silver Lake in Madiosn, New Hampshire. Poems and stories, personal correspondence, and family photos, combine to illustrate how the 'New Hampshire experience' shaped the work of this seminal 20th century writer.

The Cafe-Lyceum format features refreshments and conversation along with scenes from one of Pontine Theatre's popular original plays based on New England literature. Silver Lake Summers is based on the life and work of American poet and painter Edward Estlin Cummings, a lifelong summer resident of Silver Lake in Madiosn, New Hampshire. Poems and stories, personal correspondence, and family photos, combine to illustrate how the "New Hampshire experience" shaped the work of this seminal 20th century writer. Events are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at 7:30, Saturday at 4:oo and Sunday at 2:00. Tickets are $18 ($3 discount for seniors and students) and may be purchased at - www.pontine.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door a half-hour prior to each performance (cash & checks only) based on availability. Pontine's West End Studio Theatre is located at 959 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH. The theatre is not visible from the street. Look for the big 959 on the signpost at the head of the drive. Pontine's Cafe-Lyceum Series continues February 6-9 with Pretty Halcon Days: On the Beach with Ogden Nash; and concludes 13-16 March with Familiar Fields: The Power of Community in the Work of Sarah Orne Jewett.
