The Old Globe will present a one-night-only event, Barry Edelstein In Conversation with Steve Martin, on Thursday, August 4 at 6:00 p.m. This sure-to-be-intriguing chat between Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and playwright/renaissance man Steve Martin, will be held in conjunction with the world premiere of Martin's new play METEOR SHOWER, an adult comedy.

In Shakespeare's 400th anniversary year, Cheek by Jowl is delighted to announce that Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod will return to the French language with a new production of Shakespeare's Pericles opening in Paris and then going on to perform in Europe in 2018. Kentucky Shakespeare is proud to announce their 2016 Season. The company is currently touring the state with the educational outreach tour serving over 50,000 students this year, and the season for the public beginning in January, 2016 will serve over 30,000 more.  The season includes the Shakespeare in The Parks Tour, the 56th annual Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park, and new to the lineup - Kentucky Shakespeare's first ticketed indoor Shakespeare production - Twelfth Night at the Kentucky Center of Performing Arts.  

The Old Globe today shared its 2016 Summer Season, which will feature new and familiar works directed by four major American stalwarts. The season features the welcome return of Steve Martin (Bright Star) with the World Premiere of his new play Meteor Shower, an adult comedy, directed by Gordon Edelstein, in a co-production with Long Wharf Theatre, where he serves as Artistic Director. Paul Gordon's musical Sense and Sensibility will have its West Coast premiere, presented in association with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where it had its world premiere in February 2015, directed by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines. The Summer Shakespeare Festival will include Macbeth, directed by Brian Kulick, Artistic Director of Classic Stage Company, and Love's Labor's Lost, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.

Following a successful tour of Alan Ayckbourn's Absent Friends, today London Classic Theatre announces the cast for its production of Waiting for Godot, as part of the company's 15th anniversary season. London Classic Theatre Artistic Director Michael Cabot directs Jonathan Ashley (Pozzo), Peter Cadden (Vladimir), Richard Heap (Estragon), Michael Keane (Lucky) and Sonja Zobel (A Boy). The production tours to 37 venues around the UK this autumn, starting at Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury on 9 September.

Brilliant minds go head to head in THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION by Emmy Award-winning playwright and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and The Social Network.

Casting is set for "Girlfriend," which will begin previews at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre on July 12 with the opening slated for July 19. Featuring a book by Todd Almond and music and lyrics by Matthew Sweet, the rock musical about first love will continue through August 9.
