Segerstrom Center to Present American Ballet Theatre's THE SLEEPING BEAUTY, 3/3-8

American Ballet Theatre returns to Segerstrom Center premiering an all-new production of the classic ballet The Sleeping Beauty as choreographed by Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky. ABT's return to Orange County from March 3 - 8 marks the company's 23rd visit to the Center. Pacific Symphony will perform the beloved score by Tchaikovsky.

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival out-of-competition sections Spotlight and Park City at Midnight, as well as the films and installations to be featured in the New Frontier program. The Festival, which takes place January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah, is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.

The Cultural Services of French Embassy is pleased to announce two major theater productions from France debuting in New York: Six Characters in Search of an Author by Luigi Pirandello, directed by Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, a production of Theatre de la Ville in Paris, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (October 29 to November 2) and Kindertotenlieder by Gisele Vienne at New York Live Arts (October 29 to November 1).

American Ballet Theatre's 2015 season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The season will be highlighted by the New York Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's all-new production of The Sleeping Beauty, a revival of Lar Lubovitch's Othello and repertory programs featuring historic works in celebration of the Company's 75th Anniversary Season.

Plans were announced today for American Ballet Theatre's 75th Anniversary season by Kevin McKenzie, Artistic Director, and Rachel S. Moore, CEO. The 15-month long celebration will be highlighted by performances of ABT's historic repertoire presented during the Company's 2014 and 2015 seasons, a special PBS American Masters documentary by Ric Burns, a touring exhibit by the Library of Congress, a 75th Anniversary Gala and a new commemorative souvenir program.

Bach by one of the composer's most acclaimed interpreters. The two programs at Carnegie Hall are monumental in scope, beginning with a performance of the complete Partitas tonight, October 30 at 8:00 p.m. and concluding the following week with a concert that pairs Bach's Goldberg Variations with Beethoven's Thirty-three Variations on a Waltz by Diabelli on Tuesday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m.

Music Director Alan Gilbert opens the New York Philharmonic's 2013-14 season with the Opening Gala concert, headlined by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, tonight, September 25, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gilbert will conduct Mr. Ma and the Orchestra in two works by Argentinian composers: the World Premiere of Octavio Brunetti's arrangement, commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, of a suite from Astor Piazzolla's La serie del Ángel, and Osvaldo Golijov's Azul, composed for the eminent cellist. The program opens with Ravel's Alborada del gracioso and closes with Bolero, two pieces that reflect the French composer's fascination with Spain. The concert will be telecast nationally on Live From Lincoln Center at a later date, and Classical 105.9 FM WQXR at 7:30 p.m.
