Blue Hill Troupe Presents New Production of THE MIKADO, 4/12-20

The Blue Hill Troupe, Ltd., the only musical theater group in New York City to donate its net proceeds to charity, will unveil a new production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Mikado" with full orchestra, April 12-20, 2013 at El Teatro of El Museo del Barrio (1230 Fifth Avenue at 104th Street). Proceeds from "The Mikado" will benefit the GO Project http://www.goprojectnyc.org/.

Peter Brook Returns to BAM with US Premiere of THE SUIT, Now thru 2/2

With The Suit, theater director Peter Brook-whose 1987 production of The Mahabharata inaugurated the BAM Majestic Theater (now the BAM Harvey Theater)-returns to BAM with Theatre des Bouffes du Nord to showcase his signature approach of innovative stage design and the integration of live music. Written by Can Themba, The Suit was adapted for the stage by Mothobi Mutloatse, and Barney Simon.

GIANT Original Cast Album Coming in Spring 2013!

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that the cast of the acclaimed epic musical GIANT will enter the recording studio in January to create an original cast album, which will be released by Ghostlight Records in spring 2013. GIANT officially opened at The Public on November 15 and features a book by Sybille Pearson, music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and direction by Michael Greif. The show will end its limited run at The Public Theater at Astor Place on Sunday, December 16 following a final two-week extension.
