Producers of a homegrown musical version of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice want to engage the local community in its journey to Broadway with an exclusive local 'first look' on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in the upstate city's historic Eastman Theatre.

Alex Kilgore and Evan Cabnet are set to direct the world premiere of the stageFARM's newest work, SPIN, which begins performances on Friday, October 3, at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street).

Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Dylan McDermott has joined the cast of Playwrights Horizon's first production of the new season, the World Premiere of THREE CHANGES, a new play by Nicky Silver. Directed by Tony Award nominee Wilson Milam (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), the production will begin previews on Friday, August 22, 2008 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, September 16. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, September 28 at Playwrights Horizons Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard, Executive Director) will continue this summer's Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series with the world premiere of Rajiv Joseph's Animals Out of Paper, directed by Giovanna Sardelli. Beginning previews Monday, July 14 at Second Stage Theatre's uptown home, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre on Broadway at 76th Street, Animals Out of Paper will feature Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kellie Overbey, and Jeremy Shamos.

Playwrights Horizons has announced additional details for its 2008/2009 Season, including the final two productions of the six-play season. Jonathan Groff, Maura Tierney, and Annette O'Toole have been announced to star in three of the plays being presented.

Previews for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) World Premiere production of the new musical SAVED, which were scheduled to begin tonight, Friday, May 9, have been postponed due to a longer than expected tech process. Tonight's 8PM performance has been cancelled and the musical will now begin previews tomorrow evening, Saturday, May 10 at 8PM. (Please note: a matinee performance had not been scheduled for Saturday afternoon.)

Rubinstein joins stars Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty, who play Elphaba and Glinda, and Carol Kane, who plays Madame Morrible. Larry Bryggman, Michael Hayden, Ali MacGraw and Julianna Margulies have been cast in the Broadway production. Directed by Rufus Norris, in a dramatization by David Eldridge from the Danish 1998 film, FESTEN will have its official press opening on Sunday, April 9.
