Hamingson) announced complete casting today for THE GREAT GAME: AFGHANISTAN, the acclaimed Tricycle Theatre Company production that will be presented in three parts in association with and at NYU Skirball Center from December 1 through December 19 with an official press opening on Tuesday, December 7. Directed by Nicolas Kent and Indhu Rubasingham, THE GREAT GAME: AFGHANISTAN is an ambitious political and theatrical event that was recently nominated for an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement.

Tricycle Theatre's epic production The Great Game: Afghanistan kicked off a limited three-week engagement last week at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. The ambitious theatrical experience, nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement, explores Afghan culture and history in an enthralling three-part event. The Great Game: Afghanistan was recently remounted at the Tricycle in London and comes to the Guthrie Theater as part of a four-city U.S. tour that also includes the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., Berkeley Repertory Theatre and The Public Theater in New York.

Faith Ringgold's new series of painted storyquilts Coming to Jones Road Part II will be on view at ACA Galleries from September 9 through October 9, 2010. Coming to Jones Road Part One depicted distant silhouetted images of slaves moving through beautiful landscapes to freedom on the Underground Railroad. In Part 2 we meet Precious, Barn Door and Baby Freedom at Aunt Emmy's Safe House on Jones Road, hear their stories, and celebrate freedom.

Cuneiform Records is very proud to release Transmit, the second album from the Steve Lacy repertory band Ideal Bread. The quartet of expert improvisers and composers includes baritone saxophonist Josh Sinton, cornetist Kirk Knuffke, bassist Reuben Radding and drummer Tomas Fujiwara; they adhere to Lacy's unique vision while giving each composition new life with their unique approach to free improvisation and ensemble interplay.

Metropolitan Playhouse, 'theatrical archaeologist extraordinaire' (Backstage), presents a revival of Dodsworth by Sidney Howard, adapted from the novel by Sinclair Lewis. First presented on Broadway in 1934, Dodsworth has not received a professional production in New York since, but will be revived at Metropolitan's home at 220 E 4th Street May 15th through June 6th, 2010.
