August at the award-winning East Lynne Theater is all about swashbuckling. The Seattle Theatre Group has announced the next beloved silent film series at the Historic Paramount Theatre. Now in its 11th year sponsored by Trader Joe's, the ADORED AND RESTORED Winter Series focuses on the importance of film preservation and the art of cinema by presenting some of the most influential films from the silent movie era. Each film was a 'special pick' by one of STG's partners and includes a CineClub discussion led by a film professional. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.

The Kennedy Center hosts its 12th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Saturday, August, 31 to Monday, September 2, 2013, featuring more than 40 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. In 2002, Hairspray was The 5th Avenue Theatre's first world premiere musical to head for Broadway where it won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Musical and launched The 5th's unprecedented track record for sending new works to New York. Now the smash hit musical comes home, as audiences have never seen it before.
