The stage of the Ohio Theatre, Playhouse Square will glow with good spirits and time-honored tradition when Great Lakes Theater (GLT) presents its twenty-seventh annual production of Charles Dickens' classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL, running tonight, November 28 - December 23, 2015. The production has delighted more than 675,000 people in its history, making it one of northeast Ohio's most-loved and best-attended holiday events.

Sometimes it seems there is so much theater happening that it's difficult to keep track of it all. From personal experience, despite all the datebooks, smart phones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops...it's hard to keep everything straight in this wacky business of the show.

Turkeys are on-sale at your local supermarket, so there's no better way to know Thanksgiving is just around the corner - yep, less than two weeks away! - which means that local theater companies will be unleashing their holiday season productions with enough productions of A Christmas Story (both the musical and the play), It's A Wonderful Life and Ebenezer Scrooge-led shows that you could shake a stick at!

Come an hour early to the El Portal Theatre and take a peak inside the lovely small Marilyn Monroe Theatre lobby, adjacent to the Mainstage and peruse the myriad of photos adorning the walls. They represent a delicious collection of candids of the iconic star. Then proceed on in to the Mainstage playing area for the 8 o'clock show ... you will gasp when Sunny Thompson comes on stage in character as MM. You first see her naked on a bed wrapped in silk sheets ...in live photographic implosions as the camera clicks away. The likeness will astound you.  

Woodie King Jr.'s New Federal Theatre, in association with Castillo Theatre, will revive Martin Duberman's IN WHITE AMERICA, one of the signature plays of the Civil Rights Era, in a Off-Broadway production tonight, October 15, to November 15 at Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street.
