The 2013-14 season of the New York Philharmonic's Insights Series - free events in which artists and experts explore some of the season's themes and concerts - will continue Monday, March 3, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. with 'The 21st-Century Orchestra: A Conversation with Music Director Alan Gilbert and Executive Director Matthew VanBesien.'

The acclaimed actress, gearing up for a brief spring run in the New York Philharmonic's production of SWEENEY TODD, has signed on to star in 'comic thriller' THE LONG MIDNIGHT OF BARNEY THOMSON. The film, based on Douglas Lindsay's novels, was written by Richard Cowan and Colin McLaren, and marks Robert Carlyle's directorial debut.

The hit West End production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Sam Mendes, announced today that it has extended its booking period by six months until 1 November 2014. The show had previously been booking until 31 May 2014. The production, which has so far been seen by almost 300,000 people since it began previews in May 2013, is extending its run due to popular demand, releasing almost 400,000 extra tickets.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) launches its 2013-14 season with a special concert presentation of the musical Six Wives, with Book and Lyrics by Joe Masteroff and Music by Edward Thomas. Producers Michael Alden, Stefany Bergson and Rodger Hess have announced the New York premiere of Becoming Dr. Ruth, a warmhearted, candid and inspiring comedy starring Debra Jo Rupp, ('That 70's Show') written by Mark St. Germain and directed by Julianne Boyd.

Stephen Sondheim and Wynton Marsalis will collaborate on A BED AND A CHAIR: A New York Love Affair, a new musical event featuring Sondheim's music arranged and performed by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. This Encores! Special Event, directed by frequent Sondheim collaborator John Doyle, with choreography by Parker Esse and musical supervision by David Loud, was conceived by Peter Gethers, Jack Viertel and John Doyle, and will run for seven performances, November 13 - 17 at City Center.

Direct from its sold-out World Premiere at Barrington Stage Company, Dr. Ruth, All The Way will be directed by Julianne Boyd co-founder and Artistic Director of Barrington Stage Company (BSC). TheaterWorks' production will be a revised version of BSC's production starring stage, film and television actress Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty Forman on That 70's Show).
