Performing arts projects from Chile, Brazil, and Japan are among dozens of new events added to the 2010 schedule at REDCAT (the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater), which also announced today that the cast for the touring production North Atlantic, by New York's famed The Wooster Group, will feature Academy Award-winner Frances McDormand and Emmy-nominated ER Alum Maura Tierney.

Written by The Who's Pete Towshend and Des McAnuff, Tommy first premiered on Broadway in April of 1993 and ran for 899 performances. It won 5 Tony awards including Best Original Score, and 6 Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Orchestrations.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will present a special reading and signing with Pulitzer Prize finalist and Playwrights Horizons alumna writer Theresa Rebeck in honor of the upcoming paperback release of her acclaimed novel Three Girls and Their Brother. The event will take place Monday evening, April 20 at 8:00PM at the theater company's Mainstage (416 West 42nd Street), in advance of the paperback's release by Three Rivers Press on Tuesday, April 21.

Philadelphia Orchestra Chief Conductor and Artistic Adviser Charles Dutoit leads the Orchestra in three concerts in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center celebrating the influence of African-American culture on classical music (March 12-14). The program features Milhaud's jazz-inspired The Creation of the World; George Walker's 1996 Pulitzer Prize-winning work Lilacs for voice and orchestra, with tenor Russell Thomas as soloist in its first Philadelphia Orchestra performances; Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer, a work for which the late, great contralto Marian Anderson was known, with Philadelphia-native bass-baritone Eric Owens as soloist; and Dvoř?k's Symphony No. 9 in E minor ('From the New World').

Producer Howard Panter for Ambassador Theatre Group and co-producers Tulchin/Bartner/Jenkins, Bill Kenwright, Northwater Entertainment, Darren Bagert, and Tom Gregory announced the complete cast and design team for the new Broadway production of the greatest musical comedy GUYS AND DOLLS. The first joint Broadway project by two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo since their collaboration on the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys, GUYS AND DOLLS will begin previews on February 3, 2009 at Broadway's newly refurbished Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street).
