The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation will honor Pegasus Transit and David Ralphe with this year's Pillar of the Arts Awards at the Spotlight Awards Ceremony during a dinner and auction event to be held Saturday, May 11 at the Wood Ranch Country Club. Ralphe and Pegasus Transit are being honored for their extraordinary support of the arts in our community. The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2019, which opens on June 8 and continues for two weeks through June 22 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to present a staged reading of award-winning playwright John Glore's Creep. This staged reading is being directed by Artistic Director Oanh Nguyen as part of Chance Theater's OTR New Works Series. Today, April 15 (3pm EST), Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy will announce the winners of the the 2019 Pulitzer Prizes, including the finalists and winners for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview has officially won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team as comic playwright Ken Ludwig, who delighted Globe audiences with Robin Hood! and Baskerville, returns with a hilarious world premiere: Ken Ludwig's The Gods of Comedy, directed by Amanda Dehnert (West Side Story at Carnegie Hall, world premieres of Kate Hamill's Pride and Prejudice and Ludwig's Baskerville). Presented in association with McCarter Theatre Center, The Gods of Comedy will run May 11 - June 16, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, opening on May 16. Irondale, Brooklyn's leading theatrical ensemble producing immersive and non-traditional performance, will present On Women, a two-week theater festival that places the feminine perspective in the spotlight, April 22- May 4. With three different works that highlights Irondale's mission to both focus on increasingly diverse programming and works that tackle themes of present day, L'Atalier Theater Productions will present the world premiere of The Franca Rame Project,Cindy Rosenthal will direct George Brant's Grounded, and Hannah Reimann will present the world premiere of Both Sides Now: The Music of Joni Mitchell, The Early Years 1966-1974.

In January, Ariana Grande dropped her latest single, and its accompanying music video, '7 Rings.' The song features her sampling the famous Sound of Music number, 'My Favorite Things.' According to The New York Times, the song just topped Billboard's singles chart for the sixth time. The song is credited to 10 writers, but Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, who wrote the original 'My Favorite Things,' control 90% of the songwriting royalties. That makes this chart-topping hit not only a huge victory for Grande, but a huge victory for the musical theatre legends as well!

Emmy Award winner and Chicago Musical Theatre and Cabaret performer Scott Gryder has been cast as the principal character in Pride Films and Plays' upcoming production of Jonathan Tolins's one-man comedy BUYER & CELLAR, according to the production's director Donterrio Johnson. Gryder will play all the characters in Tolin's comedy, but most notably, the role of Alex More - a struggling actor who takes a job managing a make-believe shopping mall in the basement of Barbra Streisand's Malibu home.

Violinist YooJin Jang comes to Pepperdine University's Raitt Recital Hall at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts as the final Recital Series performer of the 2018-2019 season. She will be accompanied by pianist Renana Gutman.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the first show of the 2019 Mainstage Season will be the World Premiere of THE PROMPTER (May 28- June 16) a new comedy by Wade Dooley; directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director. The Philippines' first full-length opera, National Artists Guillermo Tolentino and Felipe Padilla De Leon's most beloved 1957 opera, 'Noli Me Tangere' (Huwag Mo Salangin/Touch Me Not) returns to the Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) main theatre, Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo, from March 8-10, 2019.
