Culture at the crossroads in Belle Époque France will be explored at the ninth annual Bard SummerScape festival, which once again features a sumptuous tapestry of music, opera, theater, dance, film, and cabaret, keyed to the theme of the 23rd annual Bard Music Festival.

Following chart-topping debuts in the U.K. and Germany, The Maltese Tenor, Joseph Calleja's third solo album for Decca Classics, will be released in the U.S. on Monday, October 24. To coincide with the release, Joseph Calleja will appear that same evening in concert at New York City's hip downtown club Le Poisson Rouge at 7:30pm.

On her new album, ‘Round Midnight, Grammy-nominated vocalist and pianist Karrin Allyson weaves an elegant, understated dreamscape featuring 11 songs by some of the most storied writers in jazz, Broadway and pop music, from Duke Ellington to Stephen Sondheim to Paul Simon and more.

The New York Center of Photography and the Moving Image (NYCPMI), the newest addition to New York City's museum and cultural landscape, will present an exhibition of new and never-before-exhibited color and black-and-white photographs by photographers Ryan Paternite and Richard Conde featuring some of the 20th century's greatest jazz musicians in performance on the legendary Birdland stage.

Longtime collaborators James Lapine and John Weidman announced the renaming of Henry Miller's Theatre to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. The renaming of the theatre is dedicated to Stephen Sondheim, the greatest and best known artist in American musical theatre on his 80th birthday.
