National Chorale, New York's premier professional choral company, under the Artistic Direction of Everett McCorvey, continues its 2016-2017 Season at Lincoln Center with the 49th presentation of Handel's Messiah Sing-In today, December 20, 2016 at 8pm at the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, NYC. The performance features Eric Brenner, Roderick George, Kevin Maynor and Jessica Sandidge.

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to announce its second solo exhibition for Kader Attia. This will be the New York debut of Attia's multimedia video installation, Reason's Oxymorons (2015), which premiered at the 13th Biennale de Lyon in 2015. Reason's Oxymorons is a video library comprised of 18 interviews presented within a modular cubicle environment. The interviews feature European and African ethnographers, psychiatric and philosophical practitioners, and theorists discussing topics grouped under titles including "Genocide," "Totem and Fetish," "Reason and Politics," and "Trance." On Friday, January 13, there will be a media preview at 11 AM, and the gallery will host a public opening reception for the artist that evening from 6-8 PM.

The Dallas Museum of Art today announced that it has acquired Sam Gilliam's Leaf. The 1970 acrylic on canvas is a major example of Gilliam's "Drape" paintings, an approach that pushed Gilliam beyond chromatic and geometric temperance toward an uninhibited, expressive inventiveness.

The talent who first burst forth onstage in 1962 in 'I Can Get It for You Wholesale'; who made a hilarious, touching 'Funny Girl' her signature role; who tackled 'A Star Is Born' in its third film incarnation-and who has stayed mostly in the spotlight professionally and mostly out of it personally over the last 54 years-has mellowed, but her voice is still completely unique, and her fans (old and new) still utterly devoted. Her political activism has become part of her shtick, and her recent live performance of a 'Send in the Clowns' parody mocking Donald Trump has become a popular clip online.
