Denver Center for the Performing Arts Broadway proudly announces the 2018/19 season, kicking off with the national tour launch of the 2017 Tony & Grammy-winning Best Musical, DEAR EVAN HANSEN, at The Buell Theatre September 25 through October 13, 2018. Joining DEAR EVAN HANSEN is the 2017 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, HELLO, DOLLY!, starring Broadway legend Betty Buckley, and the first national tours of COME FROM AWAY, A BRONX TALE, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, ROALD DAHL'S CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and ANASTASIA. Also, as part of the season, DCPA Cabaret will produce XANADU.

Some of the world's most celebrated West End and Broadway stars will entertain passengers on-board the UK's first specialist fully fledged Musical Theatre Festival at Sea.

Jeffrey Holland will star as Tom Ballard in the premiere stage production of the BAFTA-nominated WAITING FOR GOD which will begin a 12 week UK tour on 20 April.  He replaces Roy Hudd, who has withdrawn from the production on medical advice, due to ill health. 

After a sold-out, standing-room-only Toronto engagement from November 2016, through January 2017, COME FROM AWAY will return to Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre in a new Canadian production beginning performances Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

This Christmas, The Fitzrovia Radio Hour take over The Vaults Theatre in Waterloo for a strictly limited four-week run with their unique take on Charles Dickens' timeless tale.

Some of the best Improv companies and artists will descend on Birmingham from Friday 21 - Sunday 23 October for the city's inaugural  Birmingham Improv Festival 2016. Birmingham Improv Festival 2016 offers audiences three days of completely improvised plays, musicals, sketches,  puppets, costume dramas, and much more, in the intimate setting of the Blue Orange Theatre in the city's famous Jewellery Quarter.

What a huge honour for Showstopper! The Improvised Musical to be nominated in the category BEST ENTERTAINMENT AND FAMILY at the 2016 Olivier Awards!

When we started Showstopper! in 2007, I was very clear about one thing - I wanted it to look and feel like a real musical. I wanted people to fall in love and dance about in top hats. I had no interest in 'an improv show with songs in it.' (There were plenty of those around and some very good ones too.) I wanted a show that would one day sit in the West End. You know… a musical.

It is week nine. I have been to Mars, twice. I have scattered my mother's ashes (and inhaled them) from a Norwegian mountain. I have tamed lions, I have been a nun, I have fixed cars and served custard. I have sung about being polite in Britain and how to defrost the fridge. I have loved so many partners, I have wept over their bodies, I have been married at least a dozen times.

Allow me to let you in on a little secret: there is in fact one section of Showstopper: The Improvised Musical which is, in fact, not wholly improvised...

Hiya! Susan here (the small redheaded one - if you've seen Showstopper). I'm copying the style of Lucy's opening here. It seemed appropriate as we are at opposite ends of the height spectrum! When we first saw our Showstopper shoes side by side we both knew it was a photo-worthy image which gives you an idea of the difference in height between us. 

Week two of our ten-week run and we're getting into the swing of things. The preview week is over, we've had press night; or rather press day - unusually for the West End, we did a matinee and an evening show on opening day and invited reviewers to see both performances, just to show that Showstopper really is different every show.

Extempore Theatre presents The School of Night: Rhapsodes at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe from the 5th - 17th August. From the minds that pioneered improvised theatre in the UK and created the award-winning international smash hit Showstopper! The Improvised Musical comes their most challenging and impressive improv show yet.

A bold collaboration sees eight creative minds writing lyrics in a musical adaptation of Tennessee Williams' short story of self-induced repression and liberation by flattened flora. With each lyricist taking individual songs and then set to music by French composer Vincent Guibert, The Liberation of Colette Simple creates a varied tapestry of words and music.

Produced by Extempore Theatre (the new name for award-winning experimental theatre company The Sticking Place), creators of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and The Terror Seasons, Britain's only annual festival of horror theatre and Grand Guignol, The 6th Annual London Improvathon takes place over 50 hours from Friday 11 January at 7.00pm to Sunday 13 January at 9.00pm at Hoxton Hall.
