Once the lowest performing school in the State of Connecticut, Roosevelt is one of eight schools around the country turning itself around through the arts. Roosevelt School was selected last April to be part of Turnaround Arts, an initiative of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities of which First Lady Michelle Obama is Honorary Chair. Thanks to the generosity of a very special donor, Roosevelt's accomplishments will be showcased this week in a musical theater production.

National Geographic Channel (@NatGeoChannel) today announced that up-and-coming actor Will Rothhaar (@Poetiqrothhaar) has been cast as the volatile former Marine and assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in the upcoming two-hour original factual drama Killing Kennedy by Scott Free Productions. Rothhaar is the final of the four major players in the film to be announced, joining Rob Lowe (John F. Kennedy), Ginnifer Goodwin (Jacqueline Kennedy) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Marina Oswald).

Charles Ives Take Me Home will begin performances tonight, May 29, 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater at 224 Waverly Place. The official opening night is set for Thursday, June 13 at 7pm. The production is scheduled to run through June 29.

It's time to get metaled up. VH1 Classic's centerpiece in original programming, 'That Metal Show' is returning for its 12th season. The acclaimed hard rock and heavy metal talk show hosted by Eddie Trunk , Don Jamieson , and Jim Florentine kicks off the latest season on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00PM ET/PT. 'That Metal Show' is back with fan-favorite segments like 'Stump The Trunk' and 'The Vault', but will also feature some new additions this season: 'Metal Modem' features an online video chat with the biggest names in metal and hard rock from the far reaches of the globe, 'Take It Or Leave It' where the hosts discuss an array of current topics and share their overly biased opinions, and many other surprise segments this season.
