The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). The Royale will run October 4 to November 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run October 4 - 8. Opening night is Thursday, October 9 at 8:00 p.m.

The world's most famous fictional sleuth adds a novel chapter to his repertoire with playwright Jeffrey Hatcher's electrifying new whodunit SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE ADVENTURE OF THE SUICIDE CLUB, which opens the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 55th season. The play is an inventive mash-up of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic characters and the Robert Louis Stevenson short story 'The Suicide Club,' providing a clever, intricately woven new mystery for Holmes to deduce. SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE ADVENTURE OF THE SUICIDE CLUB runs today, Sept. 6 through Oct. 4 in the Robert S. Marx Theatre.

Greetings! I am thrilled to join you here at BWW to recap the new series “Forever.” The premise of the show is that Dr. Henry Morgan, an N.Y.P.D. coroner, has a small secret: He's about 200 years old and cannot die.
Shows about immortality have always intrigued me, mostly because they have rarely been very successful. That's odd. Everyone has a fantasy of immortality, at least at times one is not rebalancing one's retirement account. It seems immortality shows should exercise a lure to viewers. That does not appear to be the case.

In 2012, Phyllida Lloyd's all-female production of Julius Caesar at the Donmar Warehouse placed the play in a women's prison. It stunned audiences on both sides of the Atlantic and challenged the idea of 'who owns Shakespeare?' In one of the schools workshops around the production, teachers heard one of their students, a girl, speak in public for the first time. It couldn't end there.

The Classical Theatre Lab and the City of West Hollywood present A Family Affair by Alexander Ostrovsky, adapted from a translation by Geroge R. Noyes, directed by Mel Green. Causing an uproar when published in 1850, this broad and irreverent Russian comedy of manners centers around a greedy merchant, Bolshov, who makes a fraudulent bankruptcy application in order to finance the lavish lifestyle of his bourgeois husband-hunting daughter. When Bolshov's accomplices run off with his assets and his daughter, he descends into professional and psychological ruin and is jailed. Upon his release, Bolshov, a new man ready to walk the straight and narrow, finds that his selfish and cantankerous family has not changed one bit.

President and CEO Tania Castroverde Moskalenko unveiled the 2014-15 season at the Center for the Performing Arts - home of the Palladium.
