Louis Jourdan, a French actor famous for American film and television appearances in the Oscar-winning musical GIGI, MADAME BOVARY, CAN-CAN, and THE FIRST OLYMPICS: ATHENS, 1896, as well as Broadway appearances in shows such as ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER, has died. The Hollywood Walk of Fame winner was 93.

CBC's Shift host Tom Allen has created a unique cabaret show that will make a special stop at the Hudson Village Theatre on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2pm.

Complemented by the innovative all-female vocal group Lorelei Ensemble, BMOP performs the world premieres of Karosi's Existentia—in memory of Sándor Weöres (commissioned by BMOP) and Agócs's The Debrecen Passion, as well as Ligeti's Violin Concerto (1990) featuring violinist Gabriela Diaz, and Bartók's Three Village Scenes (1926).

Producer Larry G. Spangler and The Spangler Group announced today the creative team for HAPPY TRAILS, a new musical based on the life and career of American icons Roy Rogers and his wife Dale Evans. Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.

According to the Daily Mail, James Dreyfus will play 'Elwood P. Dowd' in HARVEY at Birmingham Repertory Theatre next year before the show launches a UK tour to Richmond, Bromley and Malvern. Mary Chase's play (which recently appeared on Broadway starring Jim Parsons) is being produced by Don Gregory, who told the Mail he plans on transferring the production to the West End.

In the first program, Mr. van Zweden will conduct Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for Violin and Viola, featuring Acting Concertmaster Sheryl Staples and Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8, tonight, November 20, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 22 at 8:00 p.m.

Verdi's Egyptian tragedy Aida, one of the most-performed operas in company history, will return to the Met stage October 30 for a 16-performance revival with rotating casts of acclaimed artists and rising stars. The initial performances will star Ukrainian soprano Liudmyla Monastyrska, who made a notable Met debut in the role in 2012, as Aida; Olga Borodina in one of her best-known portrayals as the jealous princess Amneris; Marcello Giordani as the war hero Radamès, a role he first sang at the Met in 2012; Željko Lu?i? in his first-ever Met performances as Amonasro, Aida's father; Ukrainian bass Dmitri Belosselskiy in his Met role debut as the high priest Ramfis; and American bass Soloman Howard in his Met debut as the King. Italian tenor Antonello Palombi will make his Met debut as Radamès on November 22.

Tarragon Theatre presents the world premiere of The Bakelite Masterpiece, written by Tarragon playwright-in-residence Kate Cayley, directed by Tarragon's Artistic Director Richard Rose and starring two award-winning, powerhouse actors, Geordie Johnson and Irene Poole. Set in the Netherlands in the aftermath of World War II, this penetrating new play exploring art, forgery and war crimes opens October 29 and runs to November 30 (with previews from October 21) in Tarragon's Extraspace.

The festivities will begin on the lawn outside of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. with a red carpet entrance featuring models in custom-designed gowns based on the themes of this season's operas. They continue with a sumptuous black-tie Pre-Performance Dinner at 6:00 p.m., co-chaired by Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger and catered by Wolfgang Puck in Sammons Park in a fabulous tent enhanced by décor inspired by the opera. The Dallas Opera's production of The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a charming comedy, begins at 8:00 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, as well as at Klyde Warren Park where last year's live opening night simulcast attracted thousands!
