The Old Globe is delighted to welcome one of the true geniuses of the American theatre, Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, who makes her long-awaited San Diego directing debut with an enchanting theatrical spectacle with live music and sumptuous visuals, The White Snake, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. The Southern California Premiere of The White Snake, written and directed by Zimmerman, will run tonight, March 21 through April 26 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Academy Award winner Helen Mirren will return to Broadway this spring as Elizabeth II in Peter Morgan's The Audience, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry. Based on Mark Twain's classic Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Children's Theatre Company (CTC) will present Greg Banks' adaptation of Huck Finn, tonight, March 3 - April 4, 2015.

Following a sold-out 2013 debut at 54 Below, Tony Award nominee Euan Morton returns to the acclaimed Manhattan nightspot to launch his newest project, I (Heart) THE CARPENTERS. Backed by the newly-formed Downey CA Collective, Mr. Morton will perform songs made famous by the all-American jazz/pop duo Richard and Karen Carpenter. David Mirvish and National Artists Management Company have just announced that they will present the Broadway premiere of The Heart of Robin Hood, written by David Farr, featuring original music performed on-stage by Parsonsfieldand directed by acclaimed Icelandic theatrical artist Gísli Örn Gardarsson. The production will open on Broadway on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). Previews begin on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. The production will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, August 23, 2015.

The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA) has announced over 25 nominations of actors, directors, designers and ensembles to be presented at 32nd Annual Elliot Norton Awards on Monday May 19 at The Wheelock Family Theatre.

Initial casting for Arthur Miller's The Crucible is announced. Richard Armitage, Anna Madeley and Samantha Colley are to play John Proctor, Elizabeth Proctor and Abigail Williams in Ya?l Farber's new production at The Old Vic, with previews from Tuesday 24 June. The cast also includes Sarah Niles, Rebecca Saire and Zara White, with further cast to be announced.

Directed by Derrick Sanders, the Pulitzer Prize and two-time Tony Award-winning play will feature veteran film and television actor Carl Lumbly as Troy Maxson, Steven Anthony Jones, the artistic director of Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, as Jim Bono and award-winning actor, playwright and director Margo Hall as Rose, as well as Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Eddy Ray Jackson as Cory, Adrian Roberts as Gabriel, Tyee Tilghman as Lyons and two Marin City youths - Jade Sweeney, who attends Willow Creek Academy, and Makaelah Bashir, Bayside Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy - splitting the role of Raynell.

Giants of Generosity, a Bergen County-based charitable organization, in partnership with Gunter Wilhelm Cutlery was sponsored by BMW of Tenafly, and Doug Singer of Daily Food & Wine, Chef Maneet Chauhan's manager. The two-day Celebrity Food & Wine Show was held on Saturday, March 8th and Sunday, March 9th at the Clinton Inn Hotel, 145 Dean Drive in Tenafly, N.J. Featured guest, Chef Maneet Chauhan, author, restaurateur, and a judge on the Food Network's "Chopped" program demonstrated her cooking style as the audience got to sample her Malai chicken sliders prepared by the chefs of Palmer's Crossing at the Clinton Inn. Executive Chef Guy Mitchell, producer of the White House Chef Tours emceed a two-chef, culinary student cook-off competition, and ABC Eyewitness News Anchor Ken Rosato welcomed the crowd. This two-day event included multiple sessions for the general public to take part in the Grand Tasting with dozens of local restaurant fare and wine tastings. The guests enjoyed the cooking competitions and culinary workshops, while accompanied by live music from The Tim Gysin Band, Acute Inflections featuring Elasea Douglas and Sadiki, and also the NJ Gordon Band. A good time was had by all.
