Recipient of London's 2010 Olivier Award, Katori Hall's gripping and often humorous re-imagining of events the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. takes on new meaning with the advent of the Black Lives Matter movement. Festival General Director Nigel Redden announces the program for the 40th annual Spoleto Festival USA, taking place May 27 through June 12, 2016 in Charleston, South Carolina.

On Monday evening, January 11, 2016, Steven Maglio kicks off the Friars Club Sinatra at 100 show, with a popular Sinatra signature song, the title of which is being kept a secret. The only hint Steven Maglio will give is that it's one of the songs in his regular Saturday night show at New York City's Carnegie Club.

Attending a Steve Ross show is often akin to time travel. The audience is transported back to eras when urbanity and dash were watchwords, when interpretation meant being as true to the period as the meaning of lyrics. The classy Mr. Ross, known primarily for iconoclastic solo performance, appeared at Birdland Monday night with a zealous 11-piece band helmed by long time confederate Brian Cassier. Target Margin Theater, who last year dedicated their season to the exploration of works created by the great American novelist, poet and playwright Gertrude Stein, will launch their 2015-2016 Season with an encore presentation of Reread Another based on Gertrude Stein's 'Reread Another A Play To Be Played Indoors or Out I Wish to Be a School.'  Directed by David Herskovits, the three member cast will feature Clare Barron, Purva Bedi, and Ugo Chukwu.  Performances begin tonight, September 24, 2015 for a limited engagement through Saturday, October 17, 2015 at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn).   Opening night is set for Monday, September 28, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's 28th annual Daedalus Project fundraiser for HIV/AIDS organizations, held August 24, brought in $115,772. The event was produced by Claudia Alick, associate producer, community.

Peace Day Austin together with GlobalAustin's Welcoming Week for Austin's resident international and immigrant communities are hosting an 11-day, citywide celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace from September 11-21. Elvis Presley's Graceland has announced an exciting lineup of events for Elvis Week 2015 at Graceland in Memphis, Tenn. Held August 8-16, Elvis Week is an annual gathering of friends and fans from around the world celebrating the life and legacy of the King of Rock 'n' Roll. It has become a global pop-culture phenomenon and an annual pilgrimage for tens of thousands of music lovers from around the world.

Lincoln Center Theater presents  Patti LuPone, Dale Soules, Michael Urie, Jordan Dean, Lance Coadie Williams, and Zoe Winters in Shows For Days, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane, directed by Jerry Zaks.
