June is just around the corner. In New York, this means that spring is melting into summer and that New York City's annual celebration and remembrance of the original Stonewall riots is here. While the official NYC Pride website only lists a week's worth of activities late in June, denizens of the city are aware of festivities spanning the whole month. One of the most popular is the annual, star-studded NIGHT OF A THOUSAND JUDYS fundraising concert.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company (TSC), the Mid-South's professional classical theatre, in partnership with the University of Memphis' Department of Theatre & Dance presents a magical, family-friendly, Louisiana bayou-inspired production of A Midsummer Night's Dream on the U of M's Mainstage from June 4-21.

Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) presents Life and Remembrance, a special concert at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center in honor of Memorial Day, on Monday, May 25 at 7:00pm.

Later this year, FOX Sports, with the help of the four branches of the United States military - Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force - pays solemn tribute to those who tragically fell that day, in that four-year conflict and the sacrifice of today's uniformed personnel around the world in a weekend-long remembrance.

Following critically-acclaimed runs at London's National Theater and Philadelphia's The Wilma Theater along with recognition in Israel and throughout Europe, The Temple Emanu-El Skirball Center and the Polish Cultural Institute New York present a one-night-only staged reading of Our Class by Tadeusz S?obodzianek. The cast includes Emmy, Oscar and Tony-winner Ellen Burstyn; Obie winner Alvin Epstein; Tony-nominee Boyd Gaines; Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife, Emily Owens, M.D.); Randy Harrison (Queer as Folk); Grant Kretchik; Obie winner Brian Murray; John Pankow (Episodes, Mad About You); Obie winner Austin Pendleton. The staged reading is directed by Cosmin Chivu and includes original music by Jesse Selengut performed by Tatiana Eva-Marie (vocal), Marius Mihalache (cimbalom) and Stefan Zeniuk (clarinet). Previously announced performers, Nina Arianda, Kim Cattrall and Hunter Parrish, are no longer available to participate in the reading.

The production will begin performances Saturday evening, June 6 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

The Department of Theater/Dance at UC Santa Barbara presents a play by 2013 MacArthur fellowTarell Alvin McCraney, In the Red and Brown Water. Drawing on folk tales, Yoruba mythology and contemporary poets, this first work in McCraney's The Brother/Sister Plays trilogy tells a coming-of-age story set in a Louisiana bayou housing project.

The Virginia Holocaust Museum, the Carole and Marcus Weinstein JCC and the Richmond Symphony will present “Voices of Survival” tonight, January 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage. This unique performance commemorates the triumph of Jewish survival in the camps that have become a synonym for the Holocaust, while celebrating the enduring power of artistic creativity that charges the human spirit. The program will reflect humanity's triumph over the atrocities of the Holocaust by featuring works by composers who suffered at the hands of the SS as inmates in the ghettos and concentration camps of the Nazi empire. The creativity of the victims also includes words, video and music, performed to remember all those who perished while honoring the courage and tenacity of all those victims of the Nazis who survived, thereby serving to uplift us all in the act of commemorating one of human history's greatest crimes.

SHOWS FOR DAYS, marks the return of both playwright Douglas Carter Beane (The Nance) and director Jerry Zaks (The House of Blue Leaves, Anything Goes, Six Degrees of Separation) to Lincoln Center Theater, will begin previews Thursday, June 4 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. PRELUDES, the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, will run from Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, July 19. Opening night is Monday, June 15.

The Canadian Opera Company's 2014/2015 season gets off to a rollicking start with a hilarious new production of Verdi's Falstaff, from acclaimed Canadian director Robert Carsen. Inspired by the beloved Shakespearean character and the resulting folly of his ill-advised seduction attempts, Carsen's production of Falstaff sets the action in a lovingly rendered 1950s England. The all-Canadian cast stars world renowned bass-baritone Gerald Finley, returning to the COC mainstage after more than 20 years, in a highly anticipated role debut as the title character. Joining Finley is baritone Russell Braun as Ford, Falstaff's nemesis; soprano Lyne Fortinas Alice Ford, mezzo-soprano Lauren Segal as Meg Page and contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux as Mistress Quickly, the women determined to teach Falstaff a lesson; soprano Simone Osborne as the lovesick Nannetta; and tenor Frédéric Antoun as Nannetta's amorous suitor Fenton. COC Music Director Johannes Debus guides the COC Orchestra and Chorus through the lyricism and artistry of Verdi's score that captures all the joy, wisdom and profound humanity of Shakespeare's comic invention.

American Theater Company (ATC), 1909 W. Byron Street, continues its 30th Anniversary season with the World Premiere of The Humans, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and ATC signature playwright Stephen Karam and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli,November 14 - December 21; with an official opening night of Monday, November 17. The Humans is produced here under special arrangement with New York's Roundabout Theatre Company where it will premiere in New York next season.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's 27th annual Daedalus Project fundraiser for HIV/AIDS organizations totaled $142,496. The event on August 18 was produced by Claudia Alick, associate producer, community, and directed by Eduardo Placer, an actor with the company.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will celebrate the life and career of legendary actress Lauren Bacall with a 24-hour marathon of memorable performances, including all four films in which she co-starred with husband Humphrey Bogart. TCM's tribute to Bacall, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 89, will air today, Sept. 15, beginning at 8 p.m. (ET), and will conclude Tuesday, Sept. 16, her 90th birthday.
