Circle Theatre, a professional, contemporary regional theatre company in Sundance Square, is proud to announce the line-up for their 2009 season. Unveiling a new look and new productions in 2009, Circle will produce a full season, with previews for the first show beginning on March 19, 2009. Shows this season include: ART, Hail Mary!, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Incorruptible and Lone Star Christmas Carol. The Artistic Home's 2008/2009 season continues its exploration of the artist in society with the rarely produced Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre. The second production in Artistic Home's Mainstage series, Modigliani will be directed by Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra and will feature Artistic Home co-founder and Associate Director, John Mossman in the title role. The Parisian posterchild for the free-wheeling lifestyle of 1900s Bohemia, Modi - as he was known to his friends - filled his days with drugs, liquor, sex, art and the company of his many colorful compatriots. Yet, as he began to feel the weight of his age and the increasing pressure to produce, Modi soon came face-to-face with the limits of his own mortality and the realities of living in a world where product holds more value than process and love can't hold a candle to the prospect of fame.

Tonight, September 30th the first performance of the national Frost/Nixon tour will begin in Des Moines, IA The 2007 Tony Award® -nominated new play by Peter Morgan, the award-winning author of The Last King of Scotland and The Queen, will run at the Des Moines Civic Center through October 5th.

Today Tony Taccone, artistic director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, announced additional dates for two solo shows that he staged in Berkeley before launching them on tours across the continent. Danny Hoch's Taking Over had its world premiere at Berkeley Rep in January and hit it big in Montreal this July; next week it starts an All City Tour featuring free performances in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx in addition to previously announced dates in Manhattan and Los Angeles. Moreover, after a record-breaking run in Berkeley last winter, Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking careened through Hartford, San Jose, Santa Fe, and Washington, DC this summer; now it adds Seattle to a list of upcoming destinations that also includes Boston.
