Sasha Soprano presents The Drag Queens of Comedy, in association with Peaches Christ Productions, Friday, May 12 at 7 and 10 p.m., at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. What has become a not-to-be-missed event in San Francisco since 2010, The Drag Queens of Comedy makes its Chicago debut with a line up of the world's most popular drag queen stars. Olivier Award-winning director, Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984), ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre.

Between their two lofty resumes, Broadway husband-and-wife duo Amy Spanger and Brian Shepard have a grand total of 15 Broadway credits to their names. Adding in their multiple film/TV credits and cast recordings, the phrase 'triple threat' couldn't be a better fit to define their talents. And with the skills they've honed on 'the boards,' the couple is eager to support the next generation of Broadway gypsies through their new training program: 'Married to Broadway.'

A ten-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, she is perhaps best known for her timeless hits 'I'm Every Woman,' 'Feel For You,' and 'Ain't Nobody.'

Co-directed with precision by Christina A. Coakley and Susan Marie Rhea, Keegan's PARADE keeps the staging simple and imaginative, cutting away clutter and using only the barest of props and scenic elements to help the story unfold. No one who has seen previous Keegan musicals, such as HAIR, CABARET, or AMERICAN IDIOT could be surprised by the quality of this rendering of PARADE; I fully expect this production to be recognized multiple times when the next round of Helen Hayes Awards comes around.

Those who have made significant contributions to the arts in a variety of categories will be recognized for their achievements in enriching the communities and citizens of Utah at the 12th Annual Star Awards held Today, March 11, 2017 at the SCERA Center for the Arts in Orem. 

Opening tonight on Broadway, Come From Away spotlights the town of Gander, Newfoundland, which became the temporary home of over 6,000 passengers whose planes were rerouted during the 9/11 attacks. In its dramatization of real-life figures such as Beverley Bass, a stranded pilot portrayed by Jenn Colella, and Claude Elliott, the Gander mayor brought to life by Joel Hatch, the musical provides a historical recount of the week following 9/11, heavily inspired by true stories of the compassion and camaraderie that came about in Gander.

 Musical Theatre West presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical masterpiece Carousel March 24 - April 9 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.  Voted 'the greatest musical of the twentieth century' by TIME magazine, Carousel explores the timeless message of message of love, hope, forgiveness, and redemption.  

After a stunning response to the surprise announcement of their first tour in decades, The Revolution have now confirmed plans for an extensive North American tour.  The reunion, which began as just six dates, including a special show at Paisley Park for Celebration 2017, quickly expanded even further when demand made it necessary to add second shows in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia.  Now, the quintet are set to bring their exciting new show to the rest of the U.S. with additional dates that bring the band through the midwest and on to the west coast.  The current itinerary ends on July 15th in Seattle, with even more dates expected to be announced soon.

New Hampshire Theatre Project's Youth Repertory Company will present Is He Dead?, a hilarious farce by Mark Twain and David Ives, on March 17-26, 2017 at West End Studio Theatre in Portsmouth, NH.

Following last week's surprise announcement by The Revolution of only four dates, the immediate response from fans has been astounding. The New York show sold-out in less than an hour and now, second shows have been confirmed in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia and are on-sale today. The Revolution are planning a nationwide tour throughout 2017, additional cities and dates to be announced.

PSO Music Director Robert Moody completes his tenth and final season in 2017-18 with five thrilling, capstone classical programs and the Magic of Christmas. A spectacular new production of Disney's The Little Mermaid kicks off at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 for a limited two week run. Featuring the critically acclaimed work of Director Glenn Casale, this beloved tale of a young mermaid's coming-of-age adventure is told like never before. Previously announced casting includes Diana Huey as Ariel and Matthew Kacergis as Prince Eric, with Broadway's Jennifer Allen as Ursula and Steven Blanchard as King Triton. Melvin Abston, Connor Russell and Jamie Torcellini join the cast as Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle. 

On December 31, 2016, Toronto lost one of its brightest and most quintessential attractions, the much loved Honest Ed's World Famous Bargain Shopping Centre. An element of the property that has long been representative of the city in postcards, photographs, t-shirts, posters and other materials is the famous 23,000-bulb exterior sign - which is actually a collection of more than a dozen different signs. 

For the third year in a row, Broadway's best stage managers unite for the Broadway Stage Management Symposium (BSMS), an immersive two-day program that offers practical insights, instruction and career advice for college students and young stage managers alike. 

Beginning February 18, the Orchestre National de Lyon, “probably the most refined ensemble of the world” (The Guardian),  tours the United States for the first time since 2003, playing concerts with music director Leonard Slatkin on a six-city tour.  The Orchestra performs in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and at the University of Georgia, Wake Forest University, and others. Special guest artists at Carnegie Hall include two of classical music's most treasured American voices, soprano Renée Fleming and baritone Thomas Hampson.  The New York program will feature debut performances of Guillaume Connesson's Celephaïs and a new Ravel arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov's Antar with text by Amin Maalouf.
