Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) festivalballetprovidence.org is excited to announce Up Close on Hope, Program 1, an evening  featuring choreographic premieres in FBP's state-of-the-art Black Box Theatre at 825 Hope Street in Providence.  This unique series, presented in the Fall and the Spring, provides a thrilling experience in a profoundly intimate space, placing dancers within feet of the audience as they perform original works of emerging and established choreographers. The program will take place on the consecutive weekends of November 9 - 11 and November 16-17, 2018, with rotating casts of dancers making for a different debut performance each night.

Israeli-American cellist Amit Peled announces the release of his latest album, Bach Suites Volume 1, on February 1, 2019on CTM Classics. Recorded on the superb 1733 Goffriller cello formerly owned by Pablo Casals, the album features the first three suites and marks the first time that Bach's Suites have been recorded on the instrument since Casals' own path-breaking venture in 1936.

Upon receiving the inaugural Bridge Award (Premio Puente) at Sin Muros, the Latina/o Theater Festival held at Stages Repertory last February, Gente de Teatro (Houston, TX) celebrates its 23rd season with a second comedy from Catalan playwright Jordi Galceran: Cancun. Every year without fail, two couples, intimate friends, spend their vacation in a remote location. However, what had always been a perfect scene turns into an intriguing and hilarious puzzle, drawing a thin line between fantasy and reality. In Cancun, everything seems possible, and the frustrations of every day become entangled with the dreams of what could have been.

The Utah Symphony today announced the lineup for the 2018 summer community concert series in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, several of which feature outdoor venues. The schedule includes Gina Bachauer Piano Competition Finals on June 22 and 23 at 7 PM at Abravanel Hall, Gallivan Center on Monday June 25, Disney in Concert: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" on June 27 and 28 at Abravanel Hall, the Utah Symphony at Snowbasin Resort on June 29 and August 7, the Utah Symphony at Thanksgiving Point on July 2, the Utah Symphony at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center on July 3, and Jenny Oaks Baker with the Utah Symphony on August 1 at Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre. Ticketing information is posted with each concert. No tickets are required for the Gallivan Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center performances, which are free to the public. San Diego Repertory Theatre announces the world premiere of Beachtown, the sixth production of its 42nd season.  Beachtown, based on Beertown by dog & pony dc, is the most immersive, interactive production in the history of San Diego Rep.  Written by the Rep's playwright-in-residence, Herbert Siguenza, with the play's associate director, Rachel Grossman, who is also the co-founder of dog & pony dc.  Siguenza, a founding member of Culture Clash, is also known for writing and performing in A Weekend with Pablo Picasso and Manifest Destinitis.

The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado for the Orchestra's 16th annual summer residency there, performing six orchestral concerts July 20-27, 2018.
