Norma is an opera by Vincenzo Bellini.

We are in the time of the Roman occupation by Gaul. Norma is a priestess of Gaul, but was also the lover of the consul Pollio, with whom he had two sons.

A young priestess Adalgisa, Norma tells of not being a virgin and asks Norma to dissolve the deal he made with the divinity. Norma is in the same situation, then accept the request. Then when he discovers that the man of Adalgisa is Pollio , Norma wants to kill himself but says he will convince Adalgisa to Pollio back to her...

We are performing our production in the 8000sq ft Plaxall Gallery in LIC. The production features an Ariel on silks, a dance company, projections and a huge playing area where scenes will move around the space with the audience following the action. Directed by Owen Thompson our production has incorporated a dance company choreographed by the incredible Shoko Tamai of Ninja Ballet, projection design by Sadah Espii Proctor. Becoming John Marin: Modernist at Work explores the artist's intuitive draftsmanship and innovative work in watercolors. A revelatory look at Marin's work, the exhibition affords a unique opportunity to vicariously watch an artist inspired by his surroundings and responding through drawing. On March 2,2019, Los Angeles Opera presented Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's THE CLEMENCY OF TITUS (LA CLEMENZA DI TITO) in a production by Thaddeus Strassberger. Having directed and designed the colorful and monumental sets as well, Strassberger has achieved a major opus. La Clemenza Di Tito Returns To The Met

Mozart's opera of ancient Rome, La Clemenza di Tito, returns to the Met starring Matthew Polenzani in the title role of the Roman emperor Tito, with Elza van den Heever as the vengeful Vitellia, who plots his assassination. Joyce DiDonato sings the trouser role of Sesto, Tito's most devoted friend, who is also in love with Vitellia. The trio of leading artists is reunited at the Met after their acclaimed performances together in the company's new production of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda in 2013. Emily D'Angelo and Ying Fang sing the roles of the lovers Annio and Servilia, Sesto's friend and sister, respectively, and Christian Van Horn portrays the captain of the Praetorian Guard, Publio. Lothar Koenigs conducts all six performances of Jean-Pierre Ponnelle's 1984 staging, which runs March 30 through April 20, 2019. (more...)

Michael Mayer's 2013 production of Verdi's Rigoletto, set in a 1960s Las Vegas casino, returns to the Met on February 12, with conductor Nicola Luisotti leading an all-star cast. Initial performances star Nadine Sierra as Gilda, Vittorio Grigolo as the Duke, Roberto Frontali as Rigoletto, Štefan Kocán as Sparafucile, and Ramona Zaharia in her Met debut as Maddalena. In later performances, Rosa Feola makes her Met debut as Gilda, Bryan Hymel sings the Duke for the first time at the Met, George Gagnidze returns as Rigoletto, and Dimitry Ivashchenko reprises his portrayal of Sparafucile.
