Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) begins accepting entries today, Tuesday, January 2, for the LIVE for FIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the New York stage return of MILES FOR MARY, a new play created by The Mad Ones. The play is written by Marc Bovino, Joe Curnutte, Michael Dalto, Lila Neugebauer and Stephanie Wright Thompson; in collaboration with Sarah Lunnie and the creative ensemble of Amy Staats and Stacey Yen. Directed by Lila Neugebauer, the production received critical acclaim during its smash run at The Bushwick Starr in Brooklyn during the fall of 2016. This new limited engagement at Playwrights Horizons marks the production's Off-Broadway debut.

Simone Dinnerstein returns to Miller Theatre after her Bach concerts this fall with a second concert featuring the music of Philip Glass in his 80th birthday year. This time Simone pairs Glass with Schubert, a composer he not only shares a birthday with-but also a harmonic and spiritual connection.

The 95th season of the New York Philharmonic Young People's Concerts (YPCs) will continue on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with 'Classical Echoes,' the second program in this season's series, Inspirations and Tributes - each program exploring how composers influence and pay tribute to each other.

Jeffrey Kahane will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17, from the piano; conduct Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme, with cellist Alisa Weilerstein as soloist; and conduct Haydn's Symphony No. 98, from the fortepiano, Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, January 5 at 11:00 a.m.; Saturday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, January 9 at 7:30 p.m.

The Hawaii Symphony Orchestra (HSO) concludes its 2016-17 Halekulani Masterworks season with a stellar evening of keyboard fireworks starring world-renowned pianist Andre Watts in performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor on Saturday, June 10 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, June 11 at 4 pm at Honolulu's Blaisdell Concert Hall. Regarded as one of the greatest works in the piano repertoire, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 embodies the composer's signature style with its unabashed Romanticism and the virtuosity demanded of the soloist. Watts, who chose to perform the Concerto for the New York Philharmonic's 100th anniversary, is described by The Huffington Post as having "a generosity and opulence that we associate with times of the past," and who "plays unstintingly, every little passage crafted with love and attention," will hold the audience spellbound.
