The Music Box Theatre takes this opportunity to take a look at some past award winners and see how this year's crop stacks up! Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced that legendary entertainer Regis Philbin will return as the special guest host of 'Bing Crosby Christmas Radio,' a limited-run holiday channel celebrating Crosby's life and legacy by airing his beloved, classic radio broadcasts from 1942 -1962 brimming with celebrity guests and musical performances, plus a rare recording of Crosby reciting the iconic poem 'The Night Before Christmas.' This year for the first time, SiriusXM's 'Bing Crosby Christmas Radio' will feature special presentations of 'Bing's Basement,' a collection of Christmas-related outtakes, rarities and obscurities from the personal Crosby vault.

The 1940's Radio Hour, a musical comedy by Walton Jones (based on an idea he hatched with Carol Lees,) takes you on a trip to Christmas season, 1942. Members of the "Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade," are preparing a final holiday broadcast for the troops fighting World War II. It's getting close to airtime at WOV in New York City, and the zany group is coping with backstage drama that threatens to botch their broadcast. Will they be ready in time?

Producer Charlie Lyons (The Water Horse, The Guardian, Ladder 49), director Jay Russell (The Water Horse, Ladder 49, My Dog Skip) and actor Tim Guinee (NBC's "Revolution", Showtime's "Homeland", "Iron Man I & II") worked for two years to acquire the theatrical stage rights to the most famous and beloved of all noir short stories, "Rear Window" (aka "It Had to be Murder"). This unique producing consortium announced today their plans to mount a Broadway production of the iconic and haunting tale of the wheelchair bound witness to a possible murder in his neighboring New York City apartment. Although the Broadway rights in this story have been repeatedly sought over the years from the Sheldon Abend Revocable Trust and its predecessors, this is the first option ever granted.

The Centre Theater's year long renovation is beginning to come to a conclusion with the first of two major additions to the building. The Theatre, at 208 DeKalb Street, will have its new marquee erected on March 5 just a few days after the opening of the company's next production, Fool for Love. This marquee is the first of two additions to the front of Norristown's anchor theatre. Designed and constructed byBartush Signs, the new marquee will enable the theatre to advertise all production work taking place in the venue.

Following the opening of Terence Rattigan's Flare Path, the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company today (1 April 2011) announce a further two productions to be directed by Trevor Nunn in his role as Artistic Director. After a three week run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Nunn's production of Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead comes to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in June, followed in September by William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Further productions in the season will be announced shortly.

In January of 2009, the new music world lost one of its greatest champions. The late philanthropist, photographer and writer Betty Freeman was without question the most significant American advocate for contemporary classical music in the second half of the 20th century. In her will, Ms. Freeman requested that no funeral be held, but instead a party be thrown in her memory. REDCAT is delighted to honor Ms. Freeman's request with Party for Betty!, a celebration of the life, work and legacy of Betty Freeman held at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 8:30 pm.
