David Robertson will conduct the New York Philharmonic in a program that begins and ends with ballet music - Dance Figures (Nine choreographic scenes for orchestra, premiered in 2004) by the British composer, George Benjamin, and Dances from Estancia, op. 8a (1943) by the late Argentinean composer, Alberto Ginastera.

His face is instantly recognizable; his name a synonym for 'genius.' Not since Galileo and Newton has one scientist so advanced our understanding of the universe as Albert Einstein (1879-1955). Einstein, a comprehensive exhibition that celebrates the life and theories of one of the greatest scientists of all time opens at the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art at Midland Center for the Arts on August 8, 2009, and remains on view through December 6, 2009.

New York City Center's acclaimed Fall for Dance Festival, running September 22 - October 3, 2009, will feature 20 companies in 10 nights of dance and will pay tribute to the 100th Anniversary of the Ballets Russes. The sixth annual Festival will once again offer all tickets for only $10. Tickets will go on sale Sunday, September 13 at 11:00 am.

Tamzin Outhwaite to Lead Cast in SWEET CHARITY at the Menier Chocolate Factory

Matthew White is to direct Tamzin Outhwaite as Charity Hope Valentine in the Tony Award-winning musical Sweet Charity at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Sweet Charity previews from 21 November with press night on 02 December, and runs until 07 March 2010. The box office opens for general public bookings at noon on Thursday 17 September. With book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, choreography is by Stephen Mear, set design by Tim Shortall, costume design by Matthew Wright, musical supervision and direction by Nigel Lilley, orchestrations by Chris Walker, lighting by David Howe and sound design by Gareth Owen.

In 35 years, the theatre has presented more than 135 productions to an estimated 7 million people and currently has more subscribers than any other regional theatre in the nation. Following an acclaimed 2009 season, The Marriott Theatre will present the international phenomenon Fiddler on the Roof, previewing February 17th, opening February 24th, running through April 25th; the regional premiere of the recent Broadway sensation The Drowsy Chaperone, previewing April 28th, opening May 5th, running through June 27th; the effervescent Caribbean musical fairytale Once on This Island, previewing June 30th, opening July 7th, running through August 29th; the multi-Tony Award winning musical A Chorus Line, previewing September 1st, opening September 8th, running through October 31st, 2010; and the beloved classic The Music Man, previewing November 3rd, opening November 10th, and running through January 9th, 2011.

The Colony Theatre Company presents the fourth production of its 2008 - 2009 season, CANDIDA, written by George Bernard Shaw and directed by Kathleen F. Conlin. CANDIDA will preview on Wednesday, February 4; Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6 at 8:00pm and will open on Saturday, February 7 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, March 8 at The Colony Theatre, 555 North Third Street (at Cypress) adjacent to the Burbank Town Center. CANDIDA is the delightful, light-hearted classic from George Bernard Shaw, writer of Major Barbara and Arms and the Man, winner of the Academy-Award for writing Pygmalion, and recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature. Reverend Morell thinks he and his wife, Candida, have the perfect marriage, but when a passionate young poet also declares his love for her, Morell begins to doubt whether his wife loves him after all. Written over 100 years ago, George Bernard Shaw shows that marriage hasn't changed all that much. Directed by Kathleen F. Conlin, from her acclaimed production at the Utah Shakespearean Festival.
